This raises an issue of protocol. Is it 'wes' or should it rather be 'wesw'? It wouldn't do to refer to Joe Gu or to L (with no J). OTOH, it's a lot easier to type oldr or LR or econo. And I get MGM and Meade sooooo..... I guess wes is OK. I still think wesw is Jo Gu tho'

I'll admit to using abbreviated names, but if anyone objected to it, I have reverted to the full name. I have no objection to anyone abbreviating my name, although I really didn't care for the name "Mr. Big"; I felt like the villain in a bad film noir.

I have called "wesw" wes, because I have assumed that it is most likely the case that his real first name is Wes...(Just like "Dales" real first name is Dale) and that most likely the "w" on the end is the first initial of his last name.

If a poster chooses to use their real first name in their handle (like I have) I don't see anything wrong in addressing the person with it.

I don't for a moment believe that Wes is Joe however, if for no other reason then Joe would never have forgotten his log in info. :)

Maybe wes has forgotten it again... :D

I've never had a problem with people calling me Guin. I have friends who call me that in the real world, too.

In all seriousness, he apparently has some health issues, so I hope he's alright...

I haven't been able to track him down yet, but I'm trying.

that s better.

I just set up my kid s 'puter for her and I thought I would stop by to say hello. I was spending waaaay too much time on the modern idiot box (computer), and decided it was best to give it up for a while. been playing my guitar, fixing our vehicles, cleaning, and I even wrote a new song.

I did miss you guys..., a little. :)

I definitely appreciate the thread, I was wondering if I would come back and find you guys having a party celebrating my departure....

thanks wes
