Re: They were men in them days
You mean... if an athlete from back then had been born in 1992, he or she might be a bit faster than if they'd been born in 1892? You could be on to something there.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Re: They were men in them days
My pal Renee just broke a world record in the 60m in December (beating a woman more than 30 years younger), and has been setting American and world records since she resumed running competitively about 10 or 15 years ago. Her training method/technology/regimen is, "Go to the track and run." She has a day job where she mostly sits on her ass (she's a lawyer).oldr_n_wsr wrote:I would say the majority and probably all who hold world/Olympic records.
Can one find an athletic record not held by a full time athlete? (curling not included)![]()
And even todays "real" ammatures have better training methods/technology/regiments and better nutrition than those of years past.
I don't think the human body has evolved that much to where a world class athlete back then could not compete with todays athlete given the same "advantages".
I could be wrong though.
GAH!

Funny part: She entered the meet as a training exercise, mostly because it was an easy drive up the Turnpike..

As always, there are exceptions. My pal Renee just broke a world record in the 60m in December (beating a woman more than 30 years younger), and has been setting American and world records since she resumed running competitively about 10 or 15 years ago. Would Babe Ruth hit as many (or more) home runs eating kale as opposed to hot dogs?

So you quote a "meme" that no one has raised, and object to it, and you think that that is somehow relevant?rubato wrote: I did not say that "no modern person can measure up". That was in quotes as part of the meme to which I was objecting.
And it is still a stupid meme as your own answer proves since his grandson is doing it (per you).
Ok I think grumpy cat sucks.
Glad you reconise that you are a pig Aspergers boy.rubato wrote: What a load of craven idiots. Desperate to justify your own pathetic emotional reactions. You have conditioned yourselves to need hatred and to distort what people have said so you can go into what BSG called 'pig piling'.
So what does Volatire have against you?rubato wrote: I have only ever made one prayer to God, a very short one: “O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.” And God granted it.
