That's pretty close to my impression...

From what I read, it looks like this guy's whole motivation for getting into this is because he's pissed off that Comcast isn't giving business to his entertainment company...

That fact doesn't make Sharpton any less reprehensible, but it does tend to undermine any sort of "moral high ground" for Mr. Allen....

It's pretty hard to wax indignant about payoffs when you're standing there with your hand out...

He comes across as less upset about Sharpton shaking down Comcast, or Comcast paying off Sharpton, then he is about not getting his cut....

sheds a bit of light on how Sharpton got a 6pm show on msnbc tho...

I was wonderin' how that happened.

I m not sayin' that allen s motivations are pure, just that shining a light on creepy crawlers tends to send them scurrying back into the shadows. that is a good thing. Sharpton is the creepiest of crawlers, IMHO

It sheds no light really -- it's a Complaint -- which means it is nothing more than allegations. Anyone can file a complaint, and fill it with whatever statements they want.

BTW, I took a look at the document -- it is filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California -- and it reads a hell of a lot more like a PR piece than it does an actual Complaint with allegations the Plaintiff intends to/has the support to prove. The "Introduction" to the Complaint itself is 31 multi-sentence numbered paragraphs - a full quarter of the Complaint. The style throughout is full of hyperbole, hearsay, and conclusory statements. I honestly see very few assertions that could even be proved, much less those which would support a section 1981 (Civil Rights Act) claim, including a separate conspiracy claim. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I'm not so sure "proof" is the intent behind this action.
