Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

She's something of an acquired taste, definitely not for a pop or mainstream audience. (I thought her single 212 a couple of years ago was pretty good, but I haven't taken the time to listen to much from either her mix tape or her album). She was pretty outspoken last year about Iggy Azalea's commercial/Grammy success as a "hip hop" act -- Banks thinks Iggy should be categorized as pop -- and particularly as it relates to what she sees as white appropriation of black culture. (She's certainly not alone in that view, but I think it's rather narrow, defensive and immature--but hey, she's only like 23 years old; at least she's thinking of some larger social issues.)

However, I have no idea what "stunt or not" the OP is referring to.

Maybe this? (Just a guess.)

Well, if it *IS* a stunt, it's not a particularly cunning stunt...

Well in entertainment it is all about attention; any mention is good as long as they get your name right. That is especially true in the black dominated genres. A rap singer could call for the extermination off the white race and still receive acceptance.

When I got my period it was very much like, “Boys are going to want to touch your body, but you can get pregnant now, and we not playing that shit.”
No wonder she's a "talented rapper", coming from such an erudite family.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”

Oddly enough, I made the same argument about rap music.

Their fans, who else matters. I don’t think there is a statement that a rap singer could make that would lose them fans other than perhaps, “I am a snitch for the police“. That is not true, in say, in country music. One of the Dixie chicks expressed her contempt for the US presidency and then they were finished in country music.

She expressed contempt for George Bush, not 'the presidency', an opinion widely shared today. And while they did lose some fans they are still very successful musicians with a much better quality of fans today.

They showed great courage and honesty.

a much better more liberal quality of fans
I understand that you think "better" and "more liberal" are synonymous rube, but they're not...

I had no idea you were such an expert on rap fans, lib...

How many of them do you know? 8-)

I know that some rap groups and performers have been publicly condemned over the years by other black celebrities and community leaders and activists for brutal misogynist messages, for excessive vulgarity, and for lyrics that called for things like killing cops, or that glorified gang banger life...

I also know for a fact that there are people who are fans of some rap music that don't listen to rap groups that produce that kind of music...(Not all rap groups do)

Surprisingly, I actually know a few rap fans...(though I certainly am not one...)

Good old true American Merle Haggard weighed in:

" I don’t even know the Dixie Chicks, but I find it an insult for all the men and women who fought and died in past wars when almost the majority of America jumped down their throats for voicing an opinion. It was like a verbal witch-hunt and lynching."
Meanwhile, more than 4,000 American troops and more than a 125,000 Iraqis would die in a war based on lies.

Of course, some people just live for an excuse to get their hate on.

I told you at the beginning to ask "why are they so angry"? You are still too stupid and too racist to answer it.
