I didn't know the beers so I voted for the Ale, the other looked like some nasty German lager. I don't know anything about Henry V except for Agincourt and some Shakespeare speeches so I voted for Wilberforce who really did change history for the better (without him England would still have been a world leader in the slave trade* in 1860 and the Jamaican slave owners would never have been paid off in 1834 to accept abolition**.). Cornwall looks very nice in the pictures and I wouldn't mind going there on vacation but everyone I know who has been to Greece in the past 40 years raves about it and says how enthusiastic and open the Greek people are so it got the nod by a little. And they've got older and more ruined ruins. Even ruins which were made longer ago and only ruined-up recently. That one, yes.

* Second only to Portugal.
**Old habits dying hard, they immediate switched to "indentured servitude" using east Asians which is slavery in a slightly modified form. The American south used 'sharecropping' to the same effect. Old habits of mind, even savagely cruel ones, are rarely given up except by force; force majeure or Wilberforce, I mean, moral force. Historically, mostly the former. May the Wilberforce with with you.

20%...but a lot of the questions really didn't lend themselves well to a YES/NO answer.

That's because there weren't any questions that could be answered with a Yes or No...Joe Guy wrote:Econoline wrote:20%...but a lot of the questions really didn't lend themselves well to a YES/NO answer.

ECONO;
The triumph of binary, Manicheaism is the Borg. And you have already been assimilated.

I got 70% as well but have no desire to holiday in Spain. Apparently I'm 90% Tory though, so that's better
ETA: 10% Lib-Dem (but I see Big RR has an easy third choice on every question
); 20% Please Cum in Wales; 20% ScotNat; 30% Labour; 50% Green (the shame, the shame)
Wilberforce - a complex man. Came to his anti-slavery views after conversion to Christianity; evangelical at that. On t'other hand - pposed trade unions; opposed allowing women prominence in abolition movements; didn't seem to want to upset his Lancashire industrialist friends but tried to help chimney-sweep urchins; rather too fond of government restrictions on free speech and association; and so on. But all in all, a great man of his times

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

10%.
But then I will admit I don't live in the UK and see the issues only as an American looking in.

Re: How UKIP Are You?
Rubato got what I meant, Joe...it's the whole binary thing. And yes, there were some YES/NO questions (e.g. "Has European immigration been a good thing?" "Should we spend more on the NHS?")
Also, I'm 60% Tory, 80% Labour, 55% LibDem*, 70% Green, 50% Plaid Cymru, and 40% SNP. (The fact that I took all those quizzes is surefire evidence that I have indeed been assimilated, I guess. But I think I might be Bored rather than Borg.)
*(I was so pleased to see one quiz that was ternary instead of binary that I was tempted to answer all the questions "I'm on the fence"...but resisted the temptation because I realized what it would mean for my score, and I didn't want that.

Oh that.... well... technically you're right. Or maybe I was wrong... but that doesn't change the meaning of what I did or didn't say.Econoline wrote:...Joe...it's the whole binary thing. Re: How UKIP Are You?
I did that just to see what would happen, and unsurprisingly you wind up with a 100% Lib-Dem rating...I was tempted to answer all the questions "I'm on the fence"
