It IS funny, but only because it's pretty apparent the puppy gave a 'soft' bite to the kid's crotch.

The 'grownup' who thought it would be funny was obviously not thinking through the consequences very hard. The kid and the puppy could have ended up quite hurt. Some puppies have a pretty hard play bite, it's one of the things that has to be socialized/trained out of them - so that puppy could have bitten that kid hard enough that his pain-induced reflex reaction would have been to really hurt the puppy in return (a good yank on one of those bandaged, recently docked ears would have been sufficient to possibly damage the dog's personality long-term).

I know, I'm a spoilsport. But if I was a mom in the room, the older kid/adult with the laser light would have gotten smacked upside the head - with some straight talk at very least.

Cute video, since the result wasn't terrible.

I'm not going to let the CSB die.

I don't think any of us want it to die, I just don't think many of us are interested in the "Steve and Edi Show" (produced by Gwen,) which seems to be on constant repeat in every thread...

Last new thread in "Just for fun" 16 days ago, last new post in it 14 days ago, last new "MOTU Bad" thread and post? ecvery bloody where there.

This speaks volumes about the place

That's what I meant by "allowing it to die".

Apart from a handful of posters who cross-pollinate, that place will go teats-up soon enough.

It's really sad....

when the board re-opened with Gwen ousted as admin, I really did make a serious effort to try and contribute over there; I started a lot of threads on a wide variety of subjects; I tried to split my posting time pretty much evenly with this board....

For a brief period it looked to me like maybe the place could revive some....

But lately it just gets tougher and tougher to post over there....

So many people, (for reasons I fully understand) have decided that they just don't want any part of the place...

Once the Troll Trio realized this, they really ramped up their post output, further diminishing the place....

Anyone unfamiliar with the CSB, who cruised through and just skimmed through the topics would get the impression the whole orientation of the forum was designed to cater to paranoid, obsessive conspiracy cranks, because that's 90% of what's there....

Their routine gets so old:

Make a claim
Get called on the claim; deny you made the claim
Launch a diversion to try and throw the person who called them on their BS claim on the defensive
Make a blatantly false claim about the person who called them on their BS claim, and refuse to back it up
Claim the person who called them on the BS is really the only one who said anything about the BS claim
Repeat these tactics endlessly

It would be annoying but ignorable if one person in a forum were engaging in this sort of intellectually dishonest crap, but when three, (and sometimes four, including Quad) people are engaged in this poisonous dishonesty in a relentless, prolific tag team, the net effect is to make honest players just want to throw up their hands and walkout the door....it's really mentally exhausting to try and engage people like this, who have such flagrant contempt for the reality of what's taken place in the discussion.

And this is obviously the intent of the strategy; they don't want anyone left at the CSB who doesn't embrace their obsessive fantasies. Their clear and deliberate intent is to drive people away, and what's so infuriating is that they have pretty much succeeded.

And that just seems so wrong to me; to let these lying, smearing slimeballs to carry the day....

But I have to confess I really have to make a deliberate effort to post over there now; it's become such an unpleasant experience....

The CSB has lost the critical mass of regular, honest contributors to be able to effectively combat their non-stop garbage....

They know this, and consider it to be a triumph which just encourages them to poison the place more and more and more....

Like I said it's sad.

But Jim, what would consitute any form of salvation for the place? They move out, and we move everyone back to there to post?

Don't see the point in that myself.

I'd rather let them slowly vanish up each other's aresholes.

I must admit I take a perverse pleasure in popping back in there every so often, just to take the piss out of some of the more obvious lunacy.

It was just under 12 months ago that I rejoined the CSB and tried to get fresh air into the old place, open it up for viewing and (hopefully) new members.

I never did get around to starting a recruitment drive, Jim, you ended up beating me to it, but that was my intention. It was just impossible to consider recruitment until the registration delays were removed. No one wants to wait until Gwen decides they can join. And we all know she was fallible in her decisions.

I wanted to get right behind the remaking of the CSB (sans Gwen Admin and with G-Man). However the G decided he was going to withdraw from posting.

That was a big mistake. He was much needed in order to get the balance correct. He was one of the originating three amigos that got Mark 1 up and running.

The three that are running the place now are only dong themselves and the Board a big disservice. With the utter misery, gloom and repitition of topic there, it is getting extraordinarily dull to read.

I thought he would have known how to get here. It is the link in my rather pithy signature. (Or was I being too subtle?)

Invite him by all means. I like to think of Plan B as a solution to one's woes.

It is nice to have a solution.

Yeah! I was wondering that too.

Maybe I was ousted too. Maybe I should log in and find out. Then again, why?

Sometime before the plug was pulled, Sean called me and we had a lengthy chat in which we talked about the good old days and we came around to me providing my take on things. In this conversation he repeated that he would not take the site down, even though he was angered often enough to do it.

We kept in touch via e-mail and PMs.

When he did pull the plug, I had no warning, No chance to temper his thinking.

When he put it back up, I got no news of it from him. In fact, I haven’t heard from him since.

So I guess I don’t rate the position of admin, even if I do still have the keys, which I probably don’t

Gwen was removed as admin after Gar shut down the board for a month, prior to it's being re-opened. I know this for a fact. She is not an admin or an assistant admin; she has no administrative functions or authority there whatsoever.

Technically Gar is administering the place, by himself. He never said he was going to stop posting at the current CSB, (occasionally I'll see his handle, so he does log on) he only said that he would retire his handle when the new version of the board was up. (Which I'm assuming has run into some sort of delay)

However, it has been a long time since he's posted anything.

So the CSB got shut down for some amount of time (a month?) and Gwen was ousted at the same time (or at least not reinstated as admin when it was re-opened). Man I miss everything.

Sean (and youtoo tyro) were admins (or at least had those privileges)there also?

I dropped in there yesterday(?) and even posted. Pretty stale, pretty much the same. Get tired of the same ole, same ole. I did have a tolerance for it, but after being away for a while, coming back to it has very little appeal.
