D'ja know how to Google? It was written between 1996 and 1998 - Leon Rosselson. He first recorded it in 1998.

Gob, it must be an effective lyric. Apparently I got it right in verse 1 without even reading the rest. So much for "funny" ha. Ha. Ha?

Very insightful observation wes... :ok

And don't let Meade's sarcastic response bother you...

thanks gob. gosh these millenials just google, google google. god forbid they have an actual conversation with someone who actually experienced something....

very moving song. the whole style was kinda foreign to me and kinda familiar too. strange. I didn t really care for the singing or the style of the writing, but it was brilliant anyway. nice guitar and guitar playing too.

Oh dash it all! You mean I typed 199x instead of 196x - three times? Anyone'd think I did it on purpose to confuse wesw more than he is already, if that were even possible.

Wadda ya mean strange? I read verse 1 and guessed "Welsh". And it turns out he wrote the song about the Aberfan coal tip/school disaster.

(and wesw, you're not "having a conversation". You're asking a computer to give you an answer that you could use your computer to answer without asking. (Gob is not a human - he is in fact an AI)

seriously, I asked gob because I thought that he may have had some insight into the song that Wikipedia did not, since the song may have had personal impact upon him.

post war Britain was not lovely-jovely was it? I got that much, from the early episodes of last of the summer wine.

Why stop at triple posting when you can annoy everyone by quadruple posting?

Beltane is a far more important holiday, in my (episcopagan) book
