Re: Apparently liberty is not alone...
A 21-year-old woman has become an internet sensation after asking her Facebook friends 'who's David Cameron'.
Devon Boon, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, posted the message on the social networking site last Tuesday - just days after Mr Cameron won the most intense election campaign in decades.
The young mother added that she 'didn't see the point' in former Prime Minister Tony Blair and Osama Bin Laden, before saying she thought President Obama was a terrorist.
She later added: 'I don't follow politics lol don't see the point in Tony Blair and who ever else bin laden [sic]'.
Miss Boon decided to write the post after having a conversation with her cousin - who also didn't know who Mr Cameron was.
She said: 'I don't know any politicians and I couldn't name any political parties.
I don't watch the news or read the newspapers so I'd never heard of him until people started talking about him last week. I thought he must be a celebrity or something
Devon Boon, about David Cameron
'I had a conversation with my cousin about someone called David Cameron being all over Facebook and she didn't know who he was either, so I decided to post a status about it.
'I don't watch the news or read the newspapers so I'd never heard of him until people started talking about him last week. I thought he must be a celebrity or something.'
Miss Boon, who gave birth to her son Freddie last August, also posted about Tony Blair and Osama Bin Laden, saying 'them are the only prime ministers I no lol [sic]'.
She later referred to Barack Obama as a terrorist, but argues that she 'got him and bin Laden the wrong way round'.
But Miss Boon, who worked as a customer advisor at an insurance company prior to going on maternity leave, defended her post and said schools are to blame.
She said: 'The last I heard, Tony Blair was the Prime Minister. But I don't think it's my fault.
'I don't watch the news and we didn't get taught about politics in school so why should I be expected to know these things?
'They should teach you about the government and politics and mortgages at school.

Wes, our resident anal believes that if he says something enough it make it true. That only works if you believe what he says and I don’t automatically accept what I am told. Neither of the statements about my beliefs he made is accurate. When I get around to it, I will PM you and tell you the accurate version.wesw wrote:oh, if I have to wear a tiara I don t want the title anyway. I don t take off my tinfoil hat for anything.....
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.
Re: Apparently liberty is not alone...
Snivelling coward that you are, you accuse me of lying but afraid to post publicly what you allege to have said, why? Because you know there are enough witnesses around from CSB days to call you out for your bullshit?

I know what I believe; my basic beliefs haven’t changed in years and I always tell the truth. Besides the honor involved, my memory is not good enough to lie. And, it would not be confidential I wouldn’t care who Wes shared it with. (preposition)

Re: Apparently liberty is not alone...
So why are you afraid to post your recollection of what you said here, publicly? The only reason can be that you know that there is someone other than me with a good enough memory to remember what you actually said, and you will be called out on your bullshit once more.
Out of all the people who posted in this thread, why pick on wesw? Because (1) he wasn't around to witness you utter those idiotic statements and (2) because he and I have had words now and again, you see him as someone who will ally himself with you and be gullible enough to swallow whatever crap you deign to whisper in his ear?
Newsflash, wesw is smarter than that, because wesw is smarter than you.
Actually, a well-boiled rutabaga is smarter than you, but that doesn't reflect badly on wesw. Only on you.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Not me general, I have no interest in the purse, he can have it, I am sure it matches his ensemble. He seems to thrive on venom, but me it would only harm, so I will try to avoid hate. I have seen what it has done to other individuals and I don’t want that to be me. Like AndyH I would just rather leave than let the place change me.MajGenl.Meade wrote:

You really are a waste of humanity.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Well, you certainly seem plenty resistant to change, despite our best efforts.liberty wrote:I would just rather leave than let the place change me.
GAH!

liberty, I certainly am not trying to drive you off, I hope it didn t seem that way. I am as interested in your views as much as am in any others views I read here. I may not agree with them, but I may learn something from them.

I was referring to changes in my personality and I have changed my opinion on some things. I am more appreciative of the social improvements that liberals have contributed to the country, such as labor laws and social security.Sue U wrote:Well, you certainly seem plenty resistant to change, despite our best efforts.liberty wrote:I would just rather leave than let the place change me.
And now, I got a lot of work to do and I am running late.

In 8th grade I probably knew where France, UK and Canada were, but I don't think i would have known their systems of govenment. It would be interesting to see what the other choices were. The kids might have chosen "dictatorship" only because they might have heard about it but not really understood what it meant.
IIRC we were still learning about the great USofA in 8th grade.

Re: Apparently liberty is not alone...
ok. since I think that I was told earlier that I could share what I wanted, and since a response seems to be wanted, I will, against my better judgement, respond.
I don t care about who eats corn or what some frauline thinks of someone who does. I don t care about bavarian black bread. I don t care who the Canadian dictator is.(ok, I would care if Canada got dictated)
if you and scooter want to play reindeer games, go ahead. I don t care. this old bag is going home alone either way. don t put me in the middle of some horrible hillbilly sandwich.
thanks, wes

Re: Apparently liberty is not alone...

I don't mean to be sexist, but if that is supposed to be a 21 year old woman, that is one seriously ugly broad....
They don't come a whole lot uglier than that....
That is deeply disturbing...
