I wonder if this is just in the northern hemisphere. It makes sense that asthma would peak in hay fever season, certain viral and bronchial infections peak in the late fall when the houses begin to be closed up for winter, hypertension (I'm presuming acute effects of hypertension, like strokes) becomes more severe when snow shoveling starts (and the last a-fibs in the late winter), angina when the spring cleanups start.
