In truth it's one bad cop after another bad cop -- and pretty soon you have more bad cops than you could ever imagine. Maybe not found in each and every police precinct but it's no stretch to sense a whole nation full of bad cops.
The root cause is 'cop culture' and the sooner it's addressed the better we'll all be. Until then too many cops -- bad or otherwise -- see the "Bill of Rights" as a mere suggestion of rights. No justice, no peace... it's a battle cry by an oppressed/repressed minority being totally ignored by those who should be listening the most. I may see things other don't but that does not make me crazy. Things are destined to get worse before they get better.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king, yet one eye will certainly be a good start.
And now Sandra Bland. This "whole new video is even worse" than the last worst one. Oh, no, another "isolated" example of rogue, bad apple, cops. "You're under arrest for resisting arrest." Non-use of a turn signal must be serious business in Texas. Yes, Bland may have been suffering with mental illness but to meet her judge, jury, and executioners in such quick order is truly disturbing. I think a simple ticket, and a cop not suffering with "power surge," would have sufficed in this newest incident. Who's next?
And now police shooting are increasing on a regular basis. Gee, I wonder if there is a corollary to be found here? Cop culture: The cure is worse than the disease.
