Re: Go Bernie!
Yeah, that whole "G.I. bill" thingee ruined higher education for decades and dragged the whole U.S. economy down throughout the '50s and '60s....
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Re: Go Bernie!
You do know that no one ever actually paid those 70 and 90 percent confiscatory federal income tax rates that existed before the Kennedy tax cut?Yet somehow this country thrived in the 50s 60s and 70s when the taxes charged to such persons were exponentially higher . . . as they should be now.

Re: Go Bernie!
This idea that the US was better of financially in the late 40's and 50's and 60's because "the unions were stronger" (and in fact many people were "not better off"...) or because at that time there we had a more "social oriented society" is a chimera...(ie, a falsehood)
The relatively prosperity of this nation at that time can be defined quite simply:
We stood as an economic force among nations that were completely on their backs...
We prospered and achieved greatness...
While every other major industrial power suffered ruin from WW II...
We stood astride the world as a global economic and military colossus...
The Chinese and the Indians were irrelevant primitives, with no global achievements...
We were arguably the greatest power in the whole history of the human race...
That was 70 years ago...
Now...
Not so much...

Re: Go Bernie!
I respect Bernie.
I believe that he proposes public policies which he genuinely believes are the best for the country not just those which will allow him to suck up to party donors and power brokers. He is more of a man than the entire Republican field.

This.

Re: Go Bernie!
Sanders views on economics are sophomoric and simplistic; what he mainly does is spout the class warfare rhetoric and bromides that many "progressives" lap up like a kitten goes for cream...
His views on national security and defense are as harebrained and foolhardy as Rand Paul's...
Thanks, but I'll pass.
