The American ladies take it to the Germans -- 2-0 victory. On to the finals (Sunday) against either the English or the Japanese. Still no goals scored against this team!
I admit surprise that they so handily defeated the number 1 ranked team in the world. I would have been almost as happy if the Germans had won (celebrating my German heritage -- does that make me a traitor

Hoping for the ladies of England rather than the Japanese, but pretty sure we can beat them too!

It was a good result all right. A bit fortunate on those two penalty kicks - but that's the game. I was surprised at how impotent the German offense was - and credit must go to the USA defense but even so....
England has not played with any consistency that suggests they can beat Japan but... one can hope. And if they make it to the final I can be happy with any result. But if it's Japan - well, remember Pearl Bailey and all that!

We actually watched most of the game, (including that incredibly painful to watch head collision)...
I may try to catch some of the England-Japan match this afternoon...(it starts at 4 out here)
(I guess no matter who I'd root for in that game I'd be a traitor since we fought both of those countries in different wars....
)
