no econo I did not play that one. tho I wore that cassette out, Uh Huh.
I had planned to play some other Cougar songs, but meade got fed up....
Pink Houses
Smalltown
Blood on the Scarecrow
Jack and Diane ...., all worthy of my list.
I will list the links for you, as best as I can remember, tho I did label most of them.
the most important to understanding the country mindset is , Hank Williams Jr- Country Boys Can Survive. I linked to a real cool video of it.
then for meade I played "the Battle of New Orleans" just to annoy him...
for Scooter I played the video of the banjo scene from Deliverance...., just to annoy him.
I played Johnny Cash-Man in Black, which I think any good bleeding heart liberal would like.....
I played Charlie Daniels-Long-Haired Country Boy, for the white trash contingent.
and first I played Lynyrd Skynyrd-Curtis Loew, which paints a more accurate picture of Skynyrd, who are falsely accused of racism sometimes.
oh yeah, I thru a couple billy idol songs in, just for fun.
these weren t necessarily a list of my favorite songs, tho I do like all of them. it was more of a group that I thought could explain the southern/country outlook better than I seemed able to do.

Epic fail, then
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

The Post’s data comes from a survey of 522 white people in Georgia conducted by the Survey Research Laboratory at Georgia State University in 2004:Knowledge about Southern history was measured with two questions:“This survey was designed to assess opinions about three different potential state flags that were being considered at the time: one of these flags prominently featured the Confederate battle emblem.”In their analysis, the Post discovered that whites who are more knowledgeable about Southern history are actually less likely to support the Confederate flag. As ignorance increases, so does support for the flag featuring the Confederate battle emblem.“Whether the respondent could correctly identify the famous Union general, William Tecumseh Sherman, and the number of Civil War battles the respondent could name.”
Of whites who were able to name at least two Civil War battles and correctly name General Sherman, only 34 percent preferred the flag that featured the hate symbol. Of those who answered zero questions correctly, support rose to 73 percent.
“White supporters of the Confederate battle emblem are distinguished not by their knowledge of Southern history but rather their ignorance of it,” the Post says.

I think the response sandwiched above rather proves the point of Econo's posts

You sound more and more like Liberty and it's not very pleasant. Or true.
I've worn out two separate flag holders (in five and a half years) flying my flag here. Yesterday my contractor was making repairs from winter storm damage, and I begged him to pick me up and install a new holder when he was at the hardware store.
He did:

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!

Also, Boston (you know, that most liberal of cities) all lit up for the fourth in red, white and blue (hard to see the colors, but trust me, it was lovely), from the boat late last night:

The image you guys burning your flag on TV was one of the things that spurred me to enlist. Silly me, burn it all you want just don’t burn the Russian flag. The time will come when Russia will be a more free country that the countries of the west.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

My god Joe your got to be the smartest guy on the board. Have you ever notices how seldom the question mark is used here; no need to ask questions when one already has all the answers.Joe Guy wrote:Who are 'you guys'?liberty wrote:The image you guys burning your flag on TV was one of the things that spurred me to enlist.
And to answer your question: Just because your user name is Guy does mean I am referring to you. My comment was direct towards the Communist oriented Yankee swine that burned your flag during he cold war. I am sure there are still plenty of them around.

In an amendment to its tough gun control laws, the Russian government eases restrictions, allowing citizens to carry licensed weapons for the purposes of ‘self-defense.’
Until now Russian gun enthusiasts were only permitted to carry firearms for hunting or target shooting after obtaining a license through the Interior Ministry. Russian gun licenses are to be renewed every five years, and applicants face strict background checks and are required to take gun safety courses.
The addendum to the law now lists self-defense as a legally acceptable reason for carrying a weapon.

US golfer Bubba Watson is to paint over the Confederate flag on the car from the Dukes of Hazzard TV series, as part of a growing backlash against the rebel symbol from the US Civil War.
The top golfer, who owns the car, announced the move by tweeting that he believed "all men are created equal".
The flag divides opinion in the US, symbolising racism to its critics - and southern heritage to its defenders.
The debate was revived by a recent gun attack on a black church in Charleston.
The suspect behind the murder of nine churchgoers, Dylann Roof, appeared in many photos holding the flag.
The Confederate battle flag became a potent symbol for the southern states fighting the Civil War as they sought to break away from the union.
Many of those states now display the flag outside government buildings. It also appears on number-plates and is sold as a bumper sticker

How's that? Your comment was made on this board. How many 'Communist oriented Yankee swine that burned your flag during he (sic) cold war' do you suppose will read your comment on this board? My comment was direct towards the Communist oriented Yankee swine that burned your flag during he cold war. I am sure there are still plenty of them around.
Presumably you made your comment to people who read/write on this board. But did you make it "about" any of the people who read/write on this board?
If not, you were speaking to no one at all and what do you mean by "your" flag? Is it not yours also?
