Back to the main topic, if a candidate has a huge trust deficit (many more people find her untrustworthy than trust her), it probably is not the best strategy to confirm the lack of trustworthiness by hedging on an issue like this (not anywhere near a make or break issue). Taking a stand, either way, would do her more good than taking the "clever" approach.

She gave the only honest answer possible.

When she is president (if) conditions would be different in ways that cannot be predicted now, the known facts would be different in ways that cannot be predicted now. It was in inapt question.

BS...

Every other candidate Republican and Democrat, has a yes or no position on building Keystone; it was a weaselly answer...

It may have been the "politic" thing to say, (try to avoid pissing off either the labor unions or the tree huggers) but it was a perfectly "apt" question..

It's the kind of answer that helps explain why Hillary is so deeply under water on the "honest and trustworthy" question...

It's the kind of answer that helps explain why even a gadfly nincompoop like Bernie Sanders can come within striking distance in the polls against her in Iowa and New Hampshire, and why more credible candidates are now considering taking her on for the nomination...

It's the kind of answer that goes to the heart of Hillary's fundamental political problem; the perception that she is too "politic" ...

Sometimes looking too political ain't good politics...

Wow, Al Sharpton...

The hard balls are really going to be flying, aren't they?

She's really going to need to prep hard to come off well responding to the tough questions that will come from an accomplished journalistic pro like Sharpton...
