If you respect your elders, with any luck you eventually won't respect very many people.

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
I may have to give up Facebook the sheer maginitude of conspiracy shit being posed by people is depressing especially considering that a lot of these people are people I consider friends and at one point thought were reasonably intelligent.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I know what you mean CP - I keep having to let my friends know things such as that, no - Obama didn't lower the White House flag for that black kid that got shot by cops and yes, he did too lower the White House flag for the dead marines. And, no that crippled kid has been asking for a million likes since 2003 and it's about time this thing got stopped. Or, really.... you think Bill Gates is going to give you a free computer if you get three friends to "like" this message?
I believe those kinds of glurge mail are all examples of random non-thoughts

I don't Facebook
Re: Home for Random Thoughts
If you "unfollow" people, then you don't get their thousand, "If we are all nice, and make nice friends, our life will be full of niceness"[ (inc. pretty picture of unicorn,) posts. You can remain "friends" with them though.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Why would anyone want to be "friends" with people so insipid?Gob wrote:If you "unfollow" people, then you don't get their thousand, "If we are all nice, and make nice friends, our life will be full of niceness"[ (inc. pretty picture of unicorn,) posts. You can remain "friends" with them though.

Would you want to meet up with them for drinks? Would you want to invite them over for dinner? (Let alone have them as a house guest...

older than that not so much...

Actually, yes I would. Hilary and Vanessa, who are the main culprits in posting hippy bullshit, are lovely women, one of whom I have known since I was 3 yrs old. Their taste in frankly stupid memes is not a reflection on their personal value or our friendship.

So there!

You big silly person, it's not about us seeing their family pictures, their tired cliche posts, their buttfuck ignorant posts Which are quickly shown to be a hoaxes with one quick trip to Snopes, or their asinine political rhetoric, it's about them being able to see ours. If I unfollow, they get the figurative full Monty from me but I don't have to return the favor. I kind of have to wonder if anyone actually reads what anyone else puts on Facebook anyway. We are all just out there posting shit to ourselves maybe.Lord Jim wrote:Why would anyone want to be "friends" with people so insipid?Gob wrote:If you "unfollow" people, then you don't get their thousand, "If we are all nice, and make nice friends, our life will be full of niceness"[ (inc. pretty picture of unicorn,) posts.
