She does not intend it to be funny. She is ever hopeful she will upset or hurt me with it. It isn't working so she tries it again. She has sunk as low as she can come up with for insults so there's no reserve bomb. She will keep lobbing it and I will remain unmoved by it.

Sorry for the upset to any delicate sensibilities. :D

Merely stating the facts, couldn't care less what effect it has on you. There you go again thinking everyone is obsessed with you. :loon

My pointing out what a nasty piece of work you are came about after you went out of your way to be cruel to Meade; it wasn't without justification at all.

They couldn't possibly be obsessed with me, the gravitational pull of that giant ass of yours has them in orbit around it. :D

And don't blame Meade for this, I doubt he needs your protection. Except for the pull from that ass.

I can only imagine the wit you've shared, as I put you back where you always belonged, on ignore.

But by all means, keep pouring on the evidence of your obsessive nature.

Where did you get your tomato plants wesw - or did you start from seeds? I would love to grow a purple tomato!

How 'bout them Giants?

They're two and a half back behind the hated Dodgers heading into the last stretch of the season, (which is usually when they come on the strongest) even without The Panda at 3rd base...

I think they've got a really good chance at repeating as back-to-back World Series Champions...

The Giants' chances look good. It would be great if they could win it all.

On the other hand, I wonder when the Redskins are going to get a new team name...?

The "debate" is going to start soon.

well bigsky, a little of both

this year I grew all my cherry toms from seed from last yrs plants. I didn t even bother to start them in small containers, I just sowed them directly into the garden by the handful and thinned out the patch later to leave the stronger plants. saving the seeds from cherry toms is easy tho, I just pick some dried up fruits in the fall, let them dry thoroughly, then put them in little jars.

saving seeds from the bigger toms is more of a pain, but I m gonna do it this year because they are so good. I should have sacrificed some of the earlier , huge ones for seed, but they were just to good to not eat...

I get a lot of seed and plants from the local mom and pop hardware store, but they don t have heirloom toms

I usually get them from Lowes and even the evil Wal-mart. you have to get them early tho or all the good varieties get taken. you really have to get them too early to get a good selection. then after the danger of frost, I plant them deep and keep all the suckers pruned until I get a few huge ripe ones, them I just let them grow naturally as the overall yield is increased that way.

tomatoes are really easy to grow

I've grown them and growing some now, just hadn't seen any purple ones before. I'll look into the heirloom varieties in my seed catalogues next spring.

I don t remember the variety names of most of them. I have 8 regular tomato plants this year and I think that they are all different heirloom varieties.

I don t mark them , I just plant them and stake them in a couple of raised rows and let them intertwine. some are up way over my head now and I ve already added to the height of my stakes once...

I only plant indeterminate varieties too. the determinate ones all come on at once and then are done. good if you are canning sauce, but not my preference

A local produce store here sells heirloom tomatoes for not much more than the price of ordinary styrofoam-like tomatoes, and the purple ones are my favorite.

My wife's off for the weekend with some girlfriends at a cabin in Michigan. I drive up late Sunday to join her (the gfs leave by 5) and our daughter and two grandkids (24 and 18) will join us for a few days.

Anyway, so the Mrs. says to me, "When you come up Sunday, bring all the produce with you - we don't want it left here while we're away." OK

And a short while later she looks at two tomatoes from her plant: "Oh this one's going soft. I'd better take that on Friday.... no! Wait! I'll take the good one and you can eat this one before it gets too bad."

Yeah

PS I'm on Prednizone and some codeine things and .... that tomato doesn't look too bad suddenly
