Unusual Forecast...

Post by Lord Jim »

I have the Weather bug on my computer, and here's the forecast that's showing up for today:
Sunny. Haze and patchy smoke. Highs in the lower 70s to mid 80s. West winds 5 to 15 mph.
Never seen that one before; must be the wild fires...

Wish they had it in sufficient sizes to make a dent in the western wild fires which are bad this year.

I was thinking maybe we could hire Lennie "The Sandman" Cohen to come and perform some of his "music" for the wild fires...

That ought to put out them out in about an hour, tops....

Well probably better to have patchy smoke than smokey links in the forecast. Potential for a kid's book there....

It's awful in western Montana, the Governor has declared a fire emergency & the outside air is intolerable. :(

Yesterday afternoon I was laying in my hammock listening to the Met game (boooo) and while it was clear and sunny where I was, the game was postponed due to a torential rain storm. I kept waiting for the rain to come east to my neck of the woods, but it stayed clear and sunny.

Meade, what was the point of that post?

Just curious, because I wasted 1.38 minutes of my life watching the opening credits for True Detective and have no idea how it relates to the thread . . .

Is that Leonard Cohen doing the title music? It's very good. I don't know much of his stuff, I'm sorry to say.

I don't want LJ to know - it's a trap. But yes, that's from the latest CD of the lyrical genius, Popular Problems in 2014.

He released a CD in May 2015 which is a set of stage rehearsals from the last tour. I didn't realize that a full rehearsal is really concert quality and, often, contains variations to previous performances.

Again - keep it on the down low. I want LJ to click that "detective" thing all unawares
