UPS rolls up at the door and you get all excited about being able to sit down on the way walking to.... well, anywhere really....
In this case, the John Wilkes Booth Escape Route Tour on September 19th - twelve hours of assassination stuff. He'd have been able to use one of these...

Been "discussing" since May, @w - first the PCP and then a knee-thopede who referred me to a surgeon. I was so lucky (!) to get the first available appointment Sept 8th.... wow, only 3 months to wait for a consult. Two weeks ago I got a letter saying "whoops! Owing to a conflict".... with golf?.... "your appointment has been changed to October 8th". Sad story, eh? It's what happens "in network" when one can't afford to go "out of network". Now I've damaged both shoulders lifting my corpus to its feet (physios love me). But my pains are minor compared to so many - just suck it up and get on with it. It can get a bit depressing.
TMI: today I learned that when you have an old fart toilet seat added to raise the rim four inches, that little floating paper sheet they send with the poop test kit sinks like a stone.

Ah, that's a sad result - our house sale/move back to SA has been cancelled. Yeah, cortisone in both knees and the left shoulder. AAMOF I had a great 5 days recently when the doc gave me prednisone tablets and all of the pains disappeared; I could actually put on my own socks (on my feet, yes Gob).
As to South Africa, all of this knee replacement etc. makes health insurance impossible and anyway, I'd have to have it all cleared up first. So I think we'll go for 60-90 days next year on the visitor visa. A couple of months at the Bolokanang Youth Centre will be better than nothing. Guess I won't be refereeing football matches though.
Thanks for asking

Move back to the UK and get it done free. (You may have to black up a s a Somali migrant to jump the queue though.)

My mother is almost ninety years old ; she has strong bones, perfect posture and she can squat all the way to the floor and stand straight up with no problem. However, I worry about her everyday.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

On the practical side...... to get that "free" medical care in the UK, I'd have to burn a fortune just to get over there and live. Plus my mother had to wait 14 months for her hip ops.... so how's that helping, huh? I can wait here cheaper.
I do covet those prayers, Gob - thanks, mate!
