Shoreham air crash

Post by Gob »

An air show on England's south coast turned to horror on Saturday when a Hawker plane crashed into a busy bypass, hitting cars including a wedding limousine, and killing seven people.

The plane struck at least four cars on the A27 near Brighton, after failing to pull out of a loop manoeuvre at the Shoreham Air Show in time.

A Daimler, believed to be registered to a wedding car hire company, was caught up in the crash. It is not known if any members of a wedding party were among the victims.

It is the sixth disaster at a UK air show over the past seven years, resulting in a total of six deaths before Saturday's incident, including a fatality in 2007 at the Shoreham event.

Dramatic footage showed the plane bursting into flames as it hit the road near Shoreham Airfield, where the display was taking place. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has begun an inquiry.

I remember Hawker Hunters from the late 50s.... The Observer's Book of Aeroplanes being an essential tool to spot the English Electric Lightning, the Canberra bomber and this crate (among others).

(How quaint that this board thinks aeroplane is not spelled correctly)

Maybe there should be some limit on relics doing strange contortions (sorry Gob)
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Do they fly those jets with full tanks for brief exhibition flights like this or is some of that fireball coming from fuel sources on the ground?

Just a question.
