but she has the fashion sense of a lesbian. Maybe that's the real reason for the serial husbands?
Just what do you mean by "the fashion sense of a lesbian"?
It's just Aspergers boy demonstrating what a non-sexist, anti-homophobic, true Democrat he is.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
A transgender man and his wife were issued a marriage license in February by the Kentucky county clerk who, in defiance of a US supreme court order, cited “God’s authority” this week as reason to deny paperwork to same-sex couples.
On 26 February, Camryn Colen, a transgender man, and his wife, Alexis, went to Kim Davis’s office to obtain a marriage license. The clerk’s office didn’t ask to see Camryn’s birth certificate, which identifies him as female.
“She took me at face value and judged a book by its cover,” said Camryn, 30, of Davis. “She shouldn’t do that; she should just see two people in love and grant them the ability to get married.”
Camryn and Alexis, 21, married hours after receiving the license – a decision that has since left a “bittersweet” taste in light of Davis’ decision to buck a supreme court order and outright refuse to issue marriage licenses.

Well, it's not much of a martyrdom if you're still collecting an $80k annual paycheck and walking around town, going to the movies and whatever.
Presumably she took an oath of office swearing to uphold the law, so maybe she can be charged with some sort of official malfeasance by an enterprising prosecutor. If her personal beliefs won't let her do the job that she's legally required to do, she should resign as a matter of principle, and also because she is otherwise stealing the taxpayers' money. She was elected to perform the duties of the county clerk, not to collect a paycheck while refusing to perform those duties. She doesn't get to pick and choose which functions she feels like doing.
Just so I'm clear: She should be in jail for contempt. I don't care if it results in more publicity or "martyr" status. A fine is not sufficient punishment.

Good to see the usual bigotry coming out, naked and unafraid.
Bigotry? Her bigotry? Or do you have the same deficit?

No, simply your bigotry against "born again Christians". This is one woman and therefore you extrapolate that to condemn an entire class of persons. That there is what a bigot does, you bigot.
In American English, the term can . . . also be used to refer to intolerance towards a group of people in general based on their group characteristics such as race, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status

Obviously Santa Cruz Pseudo-scientists do not have even a vestigial sense of irony, or they would see the enormous irony in them accusing anyone else of being irony challenged...

First you must find at least one born-again christian who actually HAS a vestigial sense of irony about this. Obviously you don't. Then you will have to show that the trait of lacking a sense of irony does not typify BACs. Based on the evidence, it appears to.
Until then it is an accurate characterization.
And this entire pissy response on your part fails to distract from HER bigotry. And HER bigotry is exactly the sort typical of BACS which is why we have not seen any BAC "leaders" condemning her behavior. And HER exercise of bigotry is denying the rights of people in her county. Wheereas my alleged but not proven bigotry deprives no one of the exercise of their rights.
So lets stay on the ball and keep a sense of perspective here. Bigot.
So you are saying that those pictures show how lesbians are supposed to dress.
I'll have to go tell my neighbors daughter (and her wife) that they are dressing all wrong.
Thanks for the enlightenment.
Not all gay men have great taste and a sense of style, but many do. More in proportion to the population overall than straight men.
Not all lesbians lack an aesthetic sense, I have known a lot of lesbians and bisexual women and some are very chic, but an honest person would admit that that there are fewer than the general population of women.
Some generalizations are understood by intelligent readers to apply to many, but not all, members of a particular class.
you will have to show that the trait of lacking a sense of irony does not typify BACs. Based on the evidence, it appears to.
Really? What evidence? Where? You certainly haven't posted any...
Rube, are you aware of the fact that not all BACs are even conservatives? (Your hero Jimmy Carter for example)
With the loss of DBA, you have become unquestionably the number one bigot on this board. (Oh, and an anti-Semite as well; do you need for me to re-post the proof of that again rube?)

Make up your mind - is it "even a vestigial sense of irony" or is "a vestigial sense of irony"? Two different things. You appear to be confused.
I don't have a vestigial sense of irony; thanks for pointing that out. I have a highly developed sense of irony and am a born-again Christian.
Please explain the irony to which you originally referred, bearing in mind that irony is "the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect".

That's the correct decision. She should have resigned her position rather than refuse even one license

2-0 for me today - the judge agreed, financial punishment was not sufficient. I'll take it!

And high-ho high-ho its off to jail the martyr goes. And now the BAC movement will say she is persecuted for her religious beliefs. Based on the 'logic' of her actions so far she will have to continue to refuse so we can hear the pathetic stories of her 'suffering' in jail for her bigoted policies. The BAC community will rise up in revolt, as if they were not revolting enough, against the law which says that they cannot discriminate against the people they hate no matter how much their god tells them to.
A federal judge on Thursday ordered a Kentucky clerk to jail after she refused to marry opposite-sex and same-sex couples in defiance of federal court orders and a US Supreme Court decision upholding marriage equality.
Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis will be held in custody until she orders her office to issue marriage licenses, including to same-sex couples.
Davis defied previous federal court orders to issue marriage licenses — citing "God's authority" and her religious objections to marriage equality — after the Supreme Court in June upheld same-sex couples' constitutional right to marry. Her stand has drawn nationwide attention, becoming ground zero for the broader battle between religious conservatives and advocates of marriage equality.
