Not your best work, rubato. There is no "BAC movement". There is no "BAC community". "Their God" does not tell "them" to hate people; in fact, the reverse is the case.

Is it simple ignorance or merely a continuation of the usual bigotry on your part? I don't know. I shall pray for us both.

Being a moron isn't the providence of any particular political stripe as demonstrated by yourself.

ps. Rubato needs to check his BAC.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Edited to remove the mean personal attack meme.

So far not even jail is coercing her, but it did get her deputies' attention. Marriage licenses are to be issued today. We shall see.....

Is it really enough to jail Kim Davis when her stylist has so much to answer for?

I have to admire her devotion even if I don't agree with it. But there is a side to this that I don't think people are talking about. (if it was covered already, I missed it). Since she was elected clerk, her job description changed. The Supreme Court changed the definition of marriage which caused her religious convictions to conflict with her new duties.

I don't think her job description changed, oldr. She did wrong. Her job was to uphold her oath to obey all the laws (whatever they may be). If she could no longer in good conscience perform that job, she should have resigned.

I guess whether or not it's appropriate to mock someone based on their physical appearance depends on whether or not you approve of their politics... :?

I certainly don't agree with what she did, and it seems to me there was another solution available here (if she really had not wanted to garner a lot of publicity, which I believe has played a role )...

If her issuing these marriage licenses herself conflicted with her religious convictions, why didn't she just quietly assign the marriage license issuing job to the deputy clerk in the first place?

Because that would be weasel-lying to pretend that the responsibility for what occurs in the county clerk's office is not the responsibility of the county clerk

I also noted the double-standard on the "appearance" issue - people in glass houses, I guess

Maybe not the "description" but the duties? There was no marriage licenses for gay couples when she got the job.

And how many Hillary pantsuit and other HRC appearance jokes have you two posted in the last decade?? Hypocrites.

I noted it was mean, I still thought it was funny, but I could care less about her appearance, her politics, or her religion. I care about whether she follows a lawful order of the court. Period.

Whoosh!

We freely acknowledge that we've posted such things and been severely chastised.

It's nice to see a chastiser make a joke. And even nicer to see the other chastisers say nothing at all.

Who then is the hypocrite? :shrug

BTW noting that "it's mean but it's funny" has never been an acceptable defense for us :nana

Her duties didn't change either, oldr. Her job is to issue many kinds of licenses required by law, among them "marriage licenses". It is not to issue "heterosexual marriage licenses" - there is no such thing.

She is in essence deciding who can and cannot get married - which the court has already decided. What she can do is to decide that if she cannot in good conscience issue a license to homosexuals to get married, she must turn down the entire job and resign.

Since I'm not one who's made a habit of chastising other people for making jokes of that nature, (whether the target was Hillary Clinton, or Chris Christie, or Sarah Palin, or Ann Coulter or anyone else, regardless of politics) "hypocrite" would be an inappropriate characterization...
