LJ. ONLY TIME WILL TELL

Post by RayThom »

If she did this and Hillary still won the nomination, she would have needlessly put herself in The Clinton Dog House....
It is no longer a status quo, politics-as-usual, race for Casa Blanca. Trumpty-Dumpty has made that very clear. All bets are off as to what is considered traditional campaign conduct. "Creative campaigning" is become the norm, not the exception. With the ever pressing time constraints Biden knows he must hit the ground running and, with Warren preordained for the #2 spot, it will maximize any time lost so far. He'll quickly gain ground once he pulls the trigger. I'm sure he's loading the starter's pistol as we post.

I'm hoping to experience a DNC Convention in July without Hillary accepting the nomination. A boy can pipe dream, you know.

Run, Joe, run.

Joe Biden Gains Support at Expense of Hillary Clinton, Poll Shows

Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. has yet to decide if he will make a run for president, but his flirtation with the idea is giving him a lift in a new poll and it comes at the expense of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

According to a survey from Monmouth University, Mrs. Clinton’s national lead among her Democratic rivals has slipped, with 42 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters supporting her nationally. That’s down from 52 percent a month ago, reflecting the toll that the controversy over her email practices as secretary of state is taking, and the prospect of Mr. Biden entering the race.

Mr. Biden now trails Mrs. Clinton at 22 percent, with by Senator Bernie Sanders, the independent from Vermont, at 20 percent. Mr. Biden and Mr. Sanders were at 12 percent and 16 percent, respectively, in August.

Meanwhile, former Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland, former Senator Jim Webb of Virginia and former Gov. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, who are also seeking the nomination, continue to languish in the single digits.

“For a guy who is not running for president, Biden sure is making headway against the front-runner,” said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, in a statement.

The poll shows that Democrats would be even more likely to back Mr. Biden if he opts to run. And the selection of Senator Elizabeth Warren, of Massachusetts, a favorite of the progressive wing of the Democratic party, as his running-mate could also increase his chances of winning the nomination.

No poisonous snakes in the wild here on Long Island. Mostly garter and decay snakes although I came across a black racer ( think that's what it was. It was gone in a flash) in the woods in Smithtown years ago.
I saw the copperheads upstate. First time I was with my godmother visiting her sister-in-law (a nun) at the convent/retreat (Orange County NY IIRC). We were in the pool and I opened the skimmer and there was the copperhead. Being the budding young herpetologist(sp?) I knew what it was right away. It hightailed it into the nearby woods. Growing up I was always in the woods and I would read many books on snakes, turtles, reptiles, amphibians, etc, so I could identify what I saw. Never did become a herpetologist (became an elecrtical enginer) but I still am interested in all reptiles/amphibians. Always had turtles and snakes as pets as did my kids.

hmmmm. I had a friend, when I was about 12, whose dad was a biology teacher at the local college. this kid was only about 10 , and was already an amateur herpetologist. he would take me snake and frog hunting in the surrounding woods and fields and old farm dumps.

kids were allowed to wander back then.

he always found snakes. a lot of hog nosed, mostly. he also taught me how to catch frogs. you point your elbow at them and they don t realize that your hand, which is held back, can snap out at them. ironic.....

Ah yes, the good ol' days. :ok

I let my kids wander. At home here on LI and up at the lake house in Pa. They too learned to catch frogs, turtles, snakes, whatever. I did show them what the poisonous snakes up in Pa looked like (rattlers and copperheads) and to avoid them.

Joe is a guest on Colbert's Late Show tonight. No hard announcement was made but he didn't say 'no', either.

"... Mr. Biden repeatedly seemed to hint that he may not be ready to run for president for a third time. He described himself as “optimistic” about the country and “positive about where we are going,” but he stumbled as he sought to describe what was holding him back."

I'm still thinking a "one term Joe" is most realistic and Warren would be warmed up and raring to go in 2020.

Run, Joe, run...

OUR TAX DOLLAR$ AT WORK

Post by RayThom »

Joe Biden was apparently home yesterday afternoon. A Delaware State Trooper stopped my car on Barley Mill Road while three Chevy Suburbans rolled out of the Biden compound. I wasn't allowed to continue on until the caravan was completely out of sight.

Obviously, they didn't know who I am.

Run, Joe, run...
