Jim, I was being sarcastic.... as if the USA would have given Germany money, supplies, equipment and so on in the midst of the war....

Showing peace and love will make your, and another persons, day better. Especially on a day of rememberance like today.
Tomorrow we can go back to business as usual.

My subsequent post was not a response to yours; it was a comment on the concept of "peace and love" as an effective strategy in combating "hate and evil"...
It's not always about you...

Re: ...
I used to be your favorite drunk
Good for one more laugh
Then we both ran out of luck
And luck was all we had
You put on a uniform
To fight the Civil War
I tried to join but no one liked
The side I’m fighting for
So let’s drink to when it’s over
And let’s drink to when we meet
I’ll be standing on this corner
Where there used to be a street
You left me with the dishes
And a baby in the bath
And you’re tight with the militias
You wear their camouflage
I guess that makes us equal
But I want to march with you
An extra in the sequel
To the old red-white-and-blue
So let’s drink to when it’s over
And let’s drink to when we meet
I’ll be standing on this corner
Where there used to be a street
I cried for you this morning
And I’ll cry for you again
But I’m not in charge of sorrow
So please don’t ask me when
I know the burden’s heavy
As you bear it through the night
Some people say it’s empty
But that doesn’t mean it’s light
So let’s drink to when it’s over
And let’s drink to when we meet
I’ll be standing on this corner
Where there used to be a street
It’s going to be September now
For many years to come
Every heart adjusting
To that strict September drum
I see the Ghost of Culture
With numbers on his wrist
Salute some new conclusion
Which all of us have missed
So let’s drink to when it’s over
And let’s drink to when we meet
I’ll be standing on this corner
Where there used to be a street
by the greatest poet/sing/songwriter of all time
Good for one more laugh

Let's not forget those Americans who in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing went rampaging through the streets beating the living crap out of anyone they perceived to be Muslim. Should we judge all Americans by that standard?

And do we have Cary from the Darwin Awards Forum reincarnated here or what, when a poster's OP and every subsequent post is deleted after the fact once he realized what an ass of himself he has made?

I actually go forward and delete many of my posts before I post them. Be thankful

In Scooter's world, equating the deaths of 4000 INNOCENT AMERICANS is the same as a few Muslims getting their hair mussed up after 9-11.
The only thing I recall was a Sikh being murdered in AZ. The fumduck thought he was Muslim.

My Dear Scooter,
I CHOSE to ignore it, it is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.
Your "point" being that after OK Bombing (NOT the 9-11 attack, which is the OP) you were whining about some people who got beat up.
Right?
WHOOSH is the sound of your brain deflating.

Sorry, Scooter, to have to step in and state the obvious: Dale, the point was that you shouldn't judge an entire nationality by the behavior of the worst of its population. (Oh, and speaking of irrelevant...the video you posted was *ALSO* "irrelevant to the discussion at hand".)
Lord Jim wrote:(Gandhi once said that he had "a secret weapon in the conscience of the British people"...)
I remember a very well written "alternate history" SF story that imagined Gandhi staging his protests in an India where Germany had managed to wrest control of the colony from Britain. (Needless to say, things went quite differently for Gandhi...)
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.
