chad prather
Re: chad prather
oh guys. forget whether or not you agree with the views.
just watch the video. the sheer musicality and theatre of it beautiful.
it is from deep within the soul, and that makes it great in a purely musical way
it is also an anthem for much of America and it explains their view of America very well. watch it just so that you understand if for no other reason...
....but sheesh, it s great song. his daddy wasn t half bad at song writing either......
gob, you especially might like it if you watched or listened to it. or maybe you have.... IDK....

Re: chad prather
RR, I hope you didn t mean me. if you recall, I posted a video with a young black gentleman, speaking about black lives matter, and I made the exact same argument about not judging peoples intelligence by their speech patterns and accent....
Re: chad prather
wes--no, I had no one particularly in mind, and I do remember your post in that regard. But I do think there are some people who hear an accent (urban black accents chief among them) and automatically think it means the person is stupid. I have a friend who will swear up and down he's not prejudiced (and I don't think he is any more so than most people I know), who insists those urban black speech patterns are not accents but ignorance.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

if a song makes you smile from start to finish...., it s is good.
of course if it makes you angry from start to finish it is good as well.

What is funnier than a tornado's path through a south Alabama trailer park?
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Just about anything as I don't think that's funny. People's lives (their persons and their property) are in those trailers, just like in a house.
Reminds me of homestead fla (I think it was homestead) when the construction of the houses was so poor they flew apart like trailers when the hurricane hit.

The fact that it caused $10,000's worth of improvement?

No one here that I can specifically identify. I was referring to some comedian years ago.Lord Jim wrote:Who suggested that was funny?liberty wrote:What is funnier than a tornado's path through a south Alabama trailer park?

Mola Mola or ocean sunfish. They get very big and make a nice alternative to halibut for my spouse's fish curry recipe.Guinevere wrote:Speaking of regional accents -- I apologize if you've not seen these dudes before --- (NSF, with volume on):

Montery Bay Aquarium keeps getting little ones but they get so big they have to let them go. Odd looking things. I don't know how a fisherman could not know what they were???

We get about 2 a year sighted off of Boston. They're odd and ugly, I can imagine being surprised.

Re: chad prather
I used to fish the jetty at the cape cod bay end of the cape cod canal, there was a sunfish that would swim up and down the jetty almost everytime I was there.
at the far end of the jetty I once hooked a fish, that could have only been a Bluefin tuna . that was migrating thru or fishing at the end of the canal.
it was amazing . my arms were almost snatched out of my shoulders and my my drag was singing at a pitch never before heard.
it stripped almost all my line in a matter of 2 or 3 seconds and then it just snapped, unable to dispense fast enough to keep up with the beast
