It was embarrassing. We did not learn until decades later that she was bipolar. Another classy tactic by the Conservative Party since JT became leader, to suggest that he had inherited his mother's mental illness and "loose morals".

Tom Mulcair, the NDP leader, actually had the gall to say that Canadians had asked the NDP to continue standing up for them - after showing 2/3 of them the door tonight.
