November 3rd, actually...

The most important condition Ryan laid down, was eliminating this ability of a minority within a minority of the Caucus to declare the Speaker's chair vacant...

As Ryan correctly pointed out, nobody with anything to offer would take the job with that Sword Of Damocles constantly hanging over their head...

They moved the date up? Because I was on the phone last week with my congresscritter's staff trying to arrange a meeting for 11/5 and I'm sure he told me that was debt ceiling day.

I truly hope it works out (at least in terms of an actual leader). I'm just not convinced the FreeDums will go along . . .

If my party, with 249 seats in The House Of Representatives, (the largest Republican Majority in the House since the 1930's...)

Cannot even choose a Speaker, then it is my sad duty to conclude that the party I have proudly associated myself with my entire adult life, (and a lot of my juvenile life) since the Presidency of Ronald Wilson Reagan, has become completely dysfunctional...

On the other hand, I cannot embrace the Democrats, because frankly, they're a bunch of commies who have a defeatist thumb-sucker attitude about the projection of American power, and have never met a tax increase they didn't like...

It is to weep...

One of them, anyway. I'm not quite as cynical as you all.

Yeah, well wes , you're not going to like this...

My attitude is similar to Guin's;

If they wont act in a way that is minimally sane,we need to throw the crazy people out of the caucus...

What, where people like you are sitting in a Constitutional Convention?

Redneck poseurs who don't even know the difference between Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn?

Excuse me, I'll be hanging myself in the bathroom... 8-)

no jim, where people like US sit down and reform a govt of the people by the people and for the people.

where the states come together and decide how their federation, and our republic, should function in order to form a more perfect union....

Kasich came out with a pretty radical plan that involves devolving much power back to the several and separate states, what do you think of that?

am I so bad that I should not have a say in my govt? would you hang yourself rather than let me have a seat at the table?

you cut me to the quick, dear countryman. you wound me deeply, and I do bleed.....

Please guys, it's bad enough that you bang on about your bloody endless and eternal elections, without inflicting country and western "music" on me too.
