My American chums will love this
Re: My American chums will love this
If the M-I-L is still around , we'll have to have a think about that. But Hatch is staying here, if she gets her wish and makes it onto a medical course, (wants to be a surgeon,) she'll be best of staying in Aus for the duration.

Only 19 more working days till my leave starts.
And one of those is a ½ a day for PM’s XI

Re: My American chums will love this
We leave 2 weeks tomorrow.
Just working out things...
I currently have 45 days paid holiday leave* acquired**, of which I will use 33 for my 7 week UK trip, (factoring in weekends and flex time.)
I'll get another 4 days added to my entitlement during the leave period, so that will leave me 16 days, or 3 weeks, to use in the Aussie summer, (plus any days acquired during the period.)
Not too shabby!
* this does not take into account the 5 months + "personal leave" (used for illness, funerals, caring for others, etc ) I have banked.
** this does not include the 6 months (at half pay) "long service leave" I have banked.

So you get vacation to go on vacation while on vacation.I'll get another 4 days added to my entitlement during the leave period
What a country.
I'm jealous.
Re: My American chums will love this
oldr, the mental stress of living in a country where everything is poisonous, and where the deer hop around on two legs, necessitates liberal leave time in order to maintain sanity
Re: My American chums will love this
I am so jealous...I haven't had paid vacation or sick leave since 2003. The flip side of it is that I work at a job that I really like!

Today is Hen's first day of 65 days off, for which she is only using 10 days of her leave allowance.

Oz is very civilized; wish I'd been born there or Denmark. Maybe Denmark; fewer creepy crawlies!
