trip to smithsonian may be cancelled.
Re: trip to smithsonian may be cancelled.
I didn t claim anything scooter. I suggested that the local authorities may have info that we didn t.
Re: trip to smithsonian may be cancelled.
Yes, you did. And I pointed out, more than once, that the local authorities deciding to cancel those school trips deny knowledge of any threat, and claim the cancellations to be justified even in the absence of a threat.I suggested that the local authorities may have info that we didn t.
So if the decision to cancel would have been made whether this hypothetical info exists or not, why are we still talking about ?

It's also stupid to put off going for a month. Today, Da'esh probably has zero capability or plan to do anything in DC. A month from now that may no longer be the case
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

And it's wrong to ask for sources of information, because even Jim's sources explicitly state there is no specific credible threat to DC.Scooter wrote:It was not that, so much as his insistence on attaching a meaning to those measures that has been flatly and repeatedly denied by those who put the measures in place ("maybe they know something we don't"), and then claiming that those who are cancelling trips to DC have been made privy to this secret knowledge, presumably pointing to a credible threat, and have decided to cancel trips to DC on that basis. Instead, there have been repeated statements that there is no credible threat, and that the enhanced security measures are precautionary and not indicative of any actual threat to DC, and that civilians will not be aware of most of them, i.e.implemented without impeding the public from carrying on with regular day-to-day life. The DC Chief of Police stated explicitly that changing the way we live in an attempt to evade the threat of terrorism is the wrong approach; terrorists will continue shifting to new targets while we dance to their tune.Lord Jim wrote:Wes didn't make this up out of thin air:
Once again, wes weasels out of providing any substance to support his assertions.

guin, I m so sick of carefully parsed words which confound any attempt to deduce meanings from them...
geez, we get enough of that crap in the campaign.
if I want to attach hypothetical meanings to govt actions and statements I will
if they were more forthcoming and transparent, like france has been, we could deduce some actual meaning from their actual words...
