TEFLON DON II

Post by RayThom »

And the "YUGE" juggernaut rolls on and over anyone in sight.

It looks like no one will know who the Repug presidential nominee will be until the RNC limps into Cleveland OH on July 18 thru 21.

"Politics" as we have never seen before. Fractured history in the making. This is gonna' be huge.

I read something amusing that described Trump as, "basically Trump is what would happen if the comments section took human form and ran for president "

To be sure, the Trump campaign is a phenomenon worth watching, if only for its entertainment value. A few salient points:

Most of his support comes from the simple fact that his articulated positions on "immigration" are pretty much in line with what the majority of Americans want, but politicians are unwilling to say. His other positions are fairly popular but immigration is the primary factor in his poll numbers.

The MSM is shamefully going around examining his every utterance for something that is either embarrassing or can be construed to be embarrassing if taken out of context. But Trump's supporters long ago stopped giving any credence to ABC/NBC/CNN, etc.

We will not have "a Republican primary." We will have 8 or 10 meaningful primaries, all of which (except the first one, of course) will be strongly impacted by those that precede them. Trump's relative positions in Iowa and New Hampshire are the only relevant poll numbers at this time.

Regardless of who the eventual Republican nominee is, the MSM will shamelessly promote HRC throughout the primaries and general election campaigns, and HRC will be no less odious a candidate in November 2016 than she is now. Despite "owning" about 35% of the electorate going in, it is difficult to imagine her defeating any Republican, viewed from today. MAYBE she could beat Rand Paul.

One poll has Trump at 33% and Carson at 16% in Iowa -- fully 50% are in full protest The Man mode. Add in Cruz's 20% and over 2/3 of the R's in that tilted right primary are saying something. I'll leave it to others to figure out what that is. I am still hoping we can just enjoy the holidays, shovel snow or whatever one shovels where we all live, and then wake up and find some sanity has returned by the time the first primary election votes are in.

She MIGHT not, but then Bill would be first man...
