For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
man, when I see the white house, harry reid, HRC, the repub estab, the lib media, half of fox news and pretty much every political force that I despise arrayed against trump, I am beginning to actually want him to win.
I like to travel the thoughts less traveled by, just to provoke debate sometimes, whether or not I actually agree with them, and I do not agree with trump, but...
....but, our political status quo is not honest and our political finance system is corrupt, and they need to be knocked down like a house of cards.
I believe that trump will do that. I also believe, as does big RR, that it s just an election, one of many, and if we survive Obama we can survive the Donald. their egos are about equal in my view.
I m not sure that we will survive Obama, but I hope so.
I am also aware of the possibility that trump will become a wannabe tyrant and dictator.
we the people have remedies for that in our constitution and in our closets.....
the tree of liberty is getting a bit dry anyway.....
I put a lot of effort into getting people here, left and right, to support Kasich as a moderate uniting president, to no avail..., I m done with that.
vote trump

That or the man is the antithesis of what America stands for. I suppose Trump just may be helpful to the country if it can kick enough of the pols alt large out of petty party politics mode and remind them what they are actually for and trying to prevent.
I know it's a long shot but like all realists deep down I'm an optimist.

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Yeah, and if you go to 20 different doctors and they all tell you that you have cancer, from that you should conclude that you definitely don't have cancer...man, when I see the white house, harry reid, HRC, the repub estab, the lib media, half of fox news and pretty much every political force that I despise arrayed against trump I am beginning to actually want him to win.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Dissent is not a form of government. The founding fathers, and most successful reformers, understood that. Trump and his followers do not.
“I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.” ~ Ruth Bader Ginsburg, paraphrasing Sarah Moore Grimké
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
suppressing dissent is a form of tyranny, they understood that too....
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
A temper tantrum is not a form of government either...
I saw a focus group of a bunch of Trump supporters a couple of days ago...
Man, talk about a trip Through The Looking Glass...
After listening to these people for about five minutes, I wanted the moderator to ask how many of them believed in alien abduction; I bet every hand would have gone up...(If he'd asked how many have themselves been abducted by aliens, he probably would have gotten at least half the hands to go up...)
When asked what she liked most about Trump one answer came back, "He's, strong, he says what he believes, and he doesn't act like a politician"
Well gee whiz, those exact same things could be said of Charles Manson...Would she support him for President?
Another one went on indignantly about all the criticism Trump has received for his "let's exclude all the Muslims":
"What ever happened to Reagan's 11th Commandment? They're stabbing Trump in the back" she opined...
A Trump supporter complaining about Reagan's 11th Commandment, ("Thou shall not speak ill of another Republican") being violated. Really? Are you serious right now?
And on and on like that it went...complete detachment from reality...
I don't know what planet or timeline these people were from but it sure as hell ain't the one I'm from...
Demographically they were a fairly diverse bunch, male and female, young and old, mostly white but some minorities...
But they were all unified in their common nuttiness and complete disinterest in facts...(I guess that's not at all surprising; in order to be a Trump supporter one must have a complete disinterest in facts pretty much by definition.)
And their absolute blind loyalty too, and their defensiveness for, Donald J. Trump...

blind loyalty to trump? that describes me exactly!
uninformed? that s me too!
defensiveness for trump? darn straight! I d never say a bad word against the man...
you have made a lot of predictions about trump in this thread , jim. I think that your last post is just as accurate as all your other predictions about trump and his support.

You just don't get it, Jim; it's a conspiracy of the medical establishment to get you to submit to their authority and make you pay them forLord Jim wrote:Yeah, and if you go to 20 different doctors and they all tell you that you have cancer, from that you should conclude that you definitely don't have cancer...
"surgery" and "chemo" and "radiation" that will weaken you both physically and financially so you won't be able to resist when Obama's death panels take away your guns and send you to a FEMA camp for extermination under Shariah law! Wake up, sheeple!!!!

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
maybe Bernie and trump will run independent campaigns this cycle..., that would really be a sight to behold!
personally I think we need to amend what we have to amend to have a run off in case no candidate gets a majority, but that is not the case and a 4 way campaign would, to paraphrase the great Ali, "shake up the world", and this world needs shaking.
so I say shake up the snow globe and see where the drifts gather
vote trump!

King Arthur:
The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.
Dennis:
Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you. If I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I fully expected the usual suspects here to be coming unglued over Trump...but I never expected JIM, of all people, to foam at the mouth like he is doing.
Treat Gaza like Carthage.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
You're right wes, I've made a number of predictions about Trump that failed to come to pass...you have made a lot of predictions about trump in this thread
I have repeatedly over-estimated the intelligence and judgement of his supporters in believing that they would come to their senses about him, and see him for the lying con man that he obviously is...
They are a lot more impervious to reason than I had hoped; I'll try not to make that mistake again...

It's called "parody," wesw. Ironic that, as a cartoon yourself, you missed that.
Also too, if the clown shoe fits ...

I believe CM is unavoidably detained.Well gee whiz, those exact same things could be said of Charles Manson...Would she support him for President?
btw: His next parole hearing is in 2027, perhaps if he is still alive and is released..........who knows?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
wes--that' not entirely my view; yes, I do think we could survive Trump presidency (I think we could survive most anyone being president), but I do not think it desirable that he be elected. Four more years of infighting and getting little to nothing of any value done is neither desirable nor prudent, and I'd never want him to be elected; I just don't think it would be the end of the world (or the US) if he did.I believe that trump will do that. I also believe, as does big RR, that it s just an election, one of many, and if we survive Obama we can survive the Donald.
And as for comparing him with Obama, I fail to see it as a valid comparison. I am not Obama's biggest supporter, but do think his presidency has been a mixed bag; hardly what I think would happen with a president Trump.
