100th board member!

Post by Guinevere »

Congratulations THBR --- another refugee from Le Chat and the car talk poster known formerly as "bb" or "The Hip Bob Rogers."

Guinevere, how many Le Chat House refugees have made the trip so far?

I sent PMs to several members who have not been heard from in a while. They need to know about Denniz, even if they don't come over here. Of course they can't read those PMs if they've forgotten their passwords or changed their email addresses so they don't get the message that there is a PM waiting.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

I would guess that if the email is still active, they would get the email saying that there is a PM waiting.

They wouldn't be able to read the message, but if the go to the site, they'd see the status.

Of course, if they tried to register here, their email would be lost in the pile of spam registrations... but that would be a different story. :shrug

I think I counted 10, it could be a dozen now. If you to the "members" link near the top of the page and click to the last page of the list, you can see who was joined here. You must be logged in to see that link, btw.

Many former members are connected via Facebook (I know you don't want to hear that) and were either friends with Dennis or friends with each other (and independent of Thuse's little playpen). We spent a lot of time communicating about his death when it happened. Everyone I can think of or we know how to contact is up to date - but toss out some names if you have other folks you think we should track down.

I count 10 on the members list , but we know Hip Bob and Lee have also been able to get in, (for some reason they don't show up on the member's list) so that would make a dozen... :ok

Wow! From all the posts I figured there were about 1000 members .... Nice to be in another enthusiastically-followed board, just like the OLD Car Talk!

Hello Lord Jim and MajGenl. Meade -- nice to talk to you again.

As I have been reprimanded in the last few days by a friend of mine for being too outspoken in public places, I will regard this as a private place and vocalize (read "condemn", "rant", and "sneer at") accordingly!

By the way, is this governed from London, England? My watch says 5:49 but the posting time on the message is 10:49.

UTC - yes, you're right. It's kinda the old GMT

Go to User Control Panel
Choose Board Preferences
Then Global Settings

You can set your display clock to the correct -hours from UTC

Minus 5 I guess

Yeah, you can just call me "M" if you like :ok

Geez, I go to all the trouble to type that out, only to see that Meade beat me too it when I hit submit...

He's always looking for new ways to piss me off... :P

How about a little wine? (When will winter starrrrt???) (Said in a whiny voice.)

I didn't bring beer. But you can have all of mine. I've never had a full beer. Hate the taste.

Still, there are other paths to the same road. ;)

I'm good with wining, whining not so much. I'm partial to Cotes du Rhones in the red variety, New Zealand Sauv Blancs in the white.
GAH!
