I didn't think it was possible to have an entire division with losing records.oldr_n_wsr wrote:The NFC East just got crowded at the top (or the bottom).
On the plus side, the lowly Iggles kicked some Patriot butt on Sunday. Not so invincible after all, eh, Guin?
GAH!

When your entire receiving corps is out injured, *and* your best running back as well, its pretty tough even with TB12 running the offense. But they played like crap on Sunday, no excuses, they didn't do their jobs, even Tommy.
Hopefully, they got that all out of them for the rest of the season, and I still like our chances in the playoffs when we get some (but not all) of our guys back.
So there, the

Took the wind out of their sails a bit. Bring back Justin and the Gronk!

Re: Speaking Of Monday Night Football...
Meade, in another thread you talked about the Cleveland Browns coming up with creative and original ways to lose...
The 'Skins take second place to no team, in that regard...
Last night was a classic example...
Did the Browns ever lose a game because with less than two minutes left to go in regulation play, their punt returner ran twenty-two yards in the wrong direction and then fumbled the ball?
Huh, well, did they?

We usually lose the ball before anyone gets a yard, LJ. But that certainly is some play there - I'm off to youtube to see if it's immortalized
OK you win - but that's just one. We got consistency!

Yes, with four weeks left in the season, it's a four-way struggle to see who can manage to suck the least...oldr_n_wsr wrote:The NFC East just got crowded at the top (or the bottom).

Re: Speaking Of Monday Night Football...
So far we're successfully managing to suck the least...
The Redskins, who hadn't managed to win a game on the road all season, have now won two in a row including a nice 35-25 victory over The Bills earlier today, to bring their record to 7-7...
The Giants lost, dropping to 6-8 and the Redskins will remain in first based on tie breaking formulas regardless of what The Eagles do tonight. But it would sure be nice to see them lose and also drop to 6-8, so we could have a one game out-right lead. (Given that they are playing the 11-2 Arizona Cardinals, that certainly seems very possible.)
The Boys lost again dropping to 4-10 which mathematically eliminates them from any chance of winning the division.

The Eagles played them pretty close in the first half, but after two fumbles and an interception they're now on the receiving end of an ass whuppin'... 37-10 after 3....

Re: Speaking Of Monday Night Football...
In real sports news, over the weekend Real Madrid put 10 past their hapless opponents - Danila (1), Ronaldo (2), Benzema (3) and the incomparable Gareth Bale (4) (a bloody Welshman) scored 'against Rayo Vallecano. It helped that Rayo, who were leading 1-2 at the time, had two players sent off in the first 30 minutes. Eleven good players should beat nine any day of the week.
The opposing coach spoke of the two dismissals: "La Liga has lost credibility. We feel trampled upon and humiliated," he said. "It is a long time since I have seen something so grotesque and shameful that doesn't benefit us or Madrid. All of us lose credibility."
Meantime, Spurs won and all England (not to mention all the sentient world) hangs on the result of today's game between Arsenal and Manchester City, two of the top four in the English Premier League. Spurs stand 4th and I can't decide if the best result would be a draw - in which case both clubs are in easier reach - or that one of them should lose, thus moving one further away but keeping the other firmly in place and very reachable.
But in the end, common sense prevails. Kill Arsenal!
Now back to your regular discussion of a game that takes about 8 minutes or less of actual playing time and three hours to complete.

Now where was I before I was so rudely interrupted...
Oh yes...
If the 'Skins can beat the Eagles next week they will clinch the division, no matter what happens in the season finale against Dallas...
"Cleveland Browns" and "clinch the division"....
Two phrases never seen in the same sentence...

sloppy game though, by both teams
Re: Speaking Of Monday Night Football...
Clinched the division, clinched a first round bye (thank you Pittsburgh), and just waiting on Cincinnati and Denver to beat each other up to secure the #1 seed in the AFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Or we can win the last two and do the same.
