RULE 34

Oh, my! I'll need to go to confession after viewing all of this filth.

 Okay, I thought this one was really pretty funny:

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

I was thinking when watching "Captain Phillips" that he should just sail that boat a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiit further away from the Somali pirate shore.

Along those lines, altho' I'm horribly (I mean, horribly) concerned that it will be giving the entire victory to da'esh or ISIS or ISIL or whatever, I am going to avoid travelling anywhere near the Middle East for the next half century.

And this morning I'm thinking, if I was Shia Labouef, I'd change my first name before doing that USO tour to Saudi Arabia

I am so embarrassed for anyone who claims to have "balled" their eyes out. Bawled. Eyes and balling just don't go together.

I have developed a resentment for the term "it went viral".
I have to get rid of that resentment as they are the number one reason for relapses.

Too bad there is not an anti-viral for that. ;)

I realize it's for a good cause, (assuming this isn't a scam organization; I haven't checked them out) but that insipid ear worm 1-877-kars4kids commercial is driving me mashugana...

I was hoping that they'd stop after the holidays, but noooooo... :arg

Likewise. Except here it's been 3 years of it. I can't turn the radio off fast enough.

Only way I can tolerate it is imagining it's a service that you can trade a kid for a car...

They started running ads out here on television right around Thanksgiving...(If they'd been running out here previously I strongly suspect I would have noticed...)

The first time I thought it was kind of cute; but by the 50th or 60th time it loses its charm...

I know that a lot of charitable organizations advertise during the holidays that don't run TV ads most of the year, which is what led me to think that maybe it would stop after New Years...

I just hope they're actually doing some good for kids, and aren't one of those "charities" that eat up 90% of their income on "administrative" costs...

They certainly seem to have a very "robust" advertising budget.... :(

Jim--the organization is not quite what I thought it was:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kars4Kids

there are other links that say pretty much the same thing abut the organization, but this one is the clearest.

It's Aunt Judy's 74th birthday today and this morning the three of us down in Florida planned an early start (10:30 a.m.!) to leave the house and visit Sanibel Island. We didn't really manage to be ready by that time. But it prompted this thought:

What is the minimum number of old people getting ready to go out but who can never actually leave because by the time the last person has gone to the bathroom and is ready to depart, the first one or two need the bathroom again . . . and so ad infinitum?

(The answer is not #2)(nor yet #1).

I have a car and was going to donate it to them, but decided not to after looking them up. Not that I have anything against their donations to Jewish childrens education just that they are more a "front" than a charity.

I am looking into a veterans org that takes car donations. Don't feel like going through the hassle of selling it.
