200 not out for Cook!
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

218 in front, I hope Strauss isn't mad enough to declare at lunch!

Katich (the boring bugger) has gone for 4...

Could England pull off the impossible and win this?

Doubt it, draw on the cards.

Yep that's what we love about this great game.

Five days of tactics and we still get a draw.

LOL!!!!

You mean to tell me that this duller than whale shit ordeal that droned on for day after tedious day wound up in a tie????

Geez Louise, you'd think that a game that dragged on for five days would at least produce a winner....

So, since it was a tie, who gets the ashes? Do both team's keep half of them is separate urns?

There's five games of five days each in the series Jim, so we've another five episodes to enjoy yet*.

If the series ends in a draw, then the current holders (England) retain the trophy.

* Then we have 7 one day matches, plus some 20:20 matches, plus the Prime Minister's XI to enjoy.

Johnson's gone, had to be done, his form of late has been atrocious. Let see if old baldy bollox can do better..
MITCHELL JOHNSON'S Ashes misery has finally been put to bed after he was axed from the Australian Test team in favour of Doug Bollinger, while Ben Hilfenhaus could be replaced by Ryan Harris when the team is named today.

Chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch is understood to have told Johnson he would be dropped for the second Test at training in Adelaide yesterday.

The out of form paceman must now work his way back into the side through state cricket with Western Australia if he hopes to play in the third Test in Perth.

Johnson's past five Tests have been below par, and England seem to have worked out quickly how to nullify the 29-year-old. But with figures of 0-170 in the Ashes opener in Brisbane, and having gone wicketless in four of his past six Test innings, Johnson's case for retention wasn't strong.

It is a dramatic fall from grace for the 39-Test player, who won the ICC's world cricketer of the year last year.

Well the battle for the Ashes resumes tomorrow. The weather isn't looking promising, and a rain affected match is forecast.

I know some here will be so dissapointed if rain gets in the way of play!

Settled in a bit now, 3 for 76, with Watson and Hussey at the crease.

North yet to come in, so they may yet get a respectable score, but the opening hour was a catastophy for the Aussies.

Katich went for a diamond duck...

Watson gone for 51, now Marcus North has his chance to shine.

Aus on a pitiful 4-96.

Aus in all sorts of trouble, need another Siddle bowling spell early on in the England innings...

159-5 now.

Hussey's wicket early and the rest will collapse!
