What leads you to that conclusion CP?
The guy has been singing the same tunes for 40 years; his thinking seems almost as rigid, inflexible, and ideologically driven as rube's...
He recently changed two positions to move further to the left... (On gun control and "Medicare for all")
The one thing I have heard about him though is that he has been able to sometimes work across the aisle on veteran's issues...
Buying the election

The fact that he doesn't have firm ideas built up. Tho I have been upset by his willingness to pander (especially to the anti GMO crowd)
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Re: Buying the election
I suppose buying it for yourself is better. The Koch brothers bought the governorship of Wisconsin for Snottie Wanker, and anyone who cares to look can see who's really in control of that state right now.rubato wrote:Is buying an election worse when the candidate buys it for Her/Himself or when someone else is buying the candidate?Guinevere wrote:Bloomberg may jump in later this year and claims he will spend up to $1B for an independent candidacy.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: Buying the election
yeah, jarl, I keep hoping that he is joking about that...
Re: Buying the election
That's a tough question Rube. When sorting through campaign finance issues I don't like the idea of a few individuals being able to buy their own candidacy but I recognize the ability of people to be able to spend their own money as they like and not sure that could/should ever be regulated. So I think they are equally troublesome, but only one can be successfully regulated (although not according to this SCOTUS).rubato wrote:Guinevere wrote:Bloomberg may jump in later this year and claims he will spend up to $1B for an independent candidacy.

If not, he should be locked up. (Hell...even if he IS, the police and FBI should probably look into it.)wesw wrote:yeah, jarl, I keep hoping that he is joking about that...
