I'm happy I am a very heavy sleeper.
Re: Screamed out of my warm bed
You are being way too charitable Meade. I am quite sure it was meant as an attack and additionally an attempt to appear morally superior.Instead, you presented what looked like (but surely was not intended to be) an attack upon another person for responding inadequately, as you see it.

Re: Screamed out of my warm bed
Once in a while, the better side creeps out despite all my efforts...
Don't think Bill's been here long enough to attack anyone - although he did withdraw his vote from me... me, the current champion, the top of the heap, the anointed one (cont. P94).
You're right. He's a total one-of-those things!

Re: Screamed out of my warm bed
On March 13, 1964, Catherine 'Kitty' Genovese, 28, was repeatedly stabbed to death over a 30-minute period in two separate attacks by the same man.
He attacked her once, then stalked her to a second location and finished the job, leaving Kitty to die on the steps of her Queens, New York apartment building. She had also been raped.
Dozens of people heard Kitty scream 'Save me'. Dozens even watched. No one called the police. Not one person reached out to help.
Or, that's how the story goes - and it made her murder notorious around the world.
But Bill Genovese, who has spent decades investigating his sister's murder, says that's not the case.
His findings, revealed in his documentary 'The Witness,' which debuted at the New York Film Festival this week include that:
Kitty died in the arms of a friend, not lying alone on the steps to her apartment building;
Another person screamed at Kitty's attacker to scare him away
Police were actually called twice but may not have wanted to respond because the complaint was a 'domestic' disturbance.

It has nothing to do with whether I like it or not; it is inconsistent.
You are certain that you heard a woman screaming bloody murder for one minute, a significant length of time. And yet you felt very little obligation to investigate and make sure no one was in immediate risk of serious injury or death. Almost none at all.

Well it is well understood around here that your reading skills are limited, and your comprehension skills seem virtually non-existent at times, so with all that in mind I don't feel a need to reiterate what I wrote earlier.rubato wrote:TPFKA@W wrote:Nope, I didn't do any more than that. You told rubato to kiss you where the sun doesn't shine for basically saying the same thing I was saying.TPFKA@W wrote:Well it is well understood around here that your reading skills are limited, and your comprehension skills seem virtually non-existent at times, so with all that in mind I don't feel a need to reiterate what I wrote earlier.rubato wrote:It has nothing to do with whether I like it or not; it is inconsistent.TPFKA@W wrote:Nope, I didn't do any more than that. Then you dismissed me with the phrase to "fuck him and the bike he rode in on".
Now we have this latest post, again directed to rubato.
And you accuse *ME* of attacking people?
I'm done. I refuse to allow myself to be drawn any deeper into this particular cesspool.
-"BB"-
Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: Screamed out of my warm bed
Fixed that for you Billyboy.'m done. I refuse to continue attacking you and making myself appear increasingly unreasonable and ridiculous in this particular cesspool which I contributed to greatly.
Re: Screamed out of my warm bed
@W was not inconsistent. She thought the single lady next door screamed and checked to see if she was okay. And what other people should have done in other situations is irrelevant.
Eat shit.
Eat shit.

Bill - common ground with rubato is not as awful as common ground with wesw. That's the good news.
You're well out of this one, BB. Good decision.

And you fail the test of consistency again.
You claim that you don't hear what I posted but appear to be compelled to respond to it multiple times and even adding a silly cartoon to deepen your failure.
Either you are not as certain that the voice was human as you say you were or you're really not a person driven by much compassion and a sense of obligation to your fellow beings.

Re: Screamed out of my warm bed
Once upon a time, a long long time ago. I made a bad hiring decision. Really hired a stinker.
And after this I thought and thought about what went wrong and what could I have done differently to sort out this persons particular and especial failings as a human being.
And I made a change in the interview process so that I asked questions which could reasonably be answered different ways. And I had follow up questions which suggested (indirectly) that their first answer was wrong. What I was looking for was people who were capable of self-criticism and when they heard the followup question they would say "maybe I didn't answer that as well as I might" and I was also looking for people like you who when found to have made a mistake will self-justify and make stupid arguments to cover their asses.
It was an important realization and the rest of my life has been much better as a result.
You screwed up and can't admit it.

I'll say this for rube, he has an active and florid imagination. Rare in someone with Aspergers, but not unknown.
