The final Land Rover Defender has rolled off the production line.
Workers at the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) plant in Solihull, West Midlands cheered as the last one was presented with its lights flashing and horn blaring.
More than two million of the 4x4s have been produced over the past 68 years as it became one of the most-loved and long-lived road vehicles.

Last Defender
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: Last Defender
That's quite an accomplishment considering the Lucas electrical system.....the last one was presented with its lights flashing and horn blaring.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

You're assuming they INTENDED the lights to be flashing and the horn blaring.dales wrote:

But wasn't it intended to be an OFF-road vehicle??"More than two million of the 4x4s have been produced over the past 68 years as it became one of the most-loved and long-lived road vehicles."

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Lucas headlights have three settings. Off, dim, and flicker.

Re: Last Defender
Blah blah - yes, but they were not "Defenders". That name came a lot later.
TIme was, they were just Land Rovers (I, II, II and so on). That name didn't come about until 1990 as a change from the 90 and the 1/10 and THAT was only because they started producing the Discovery in 1989
It will always be the Landie for those who loved it F 'Discovery'

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: Last Defender

Re: Last Defender
The Buick V8, actually...was dropped after 2004. Later ones (in the US) used the Ford/Jaguar 4.4 DOHC V8.

Re: Last Defender
Was this ultimate vehicle the smuggler model (with the machine gun mount at the back) or the police model (with the machine gun mount in the front)?
