Yup, that's a keeper!

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Nothing is as miserable as a being motorcyclist in the winter.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I used to ride a mc all winter. Didn't have a car so didn't have much choice. Not so bad if you dress properly.
And I have not gone snowmobiling yet this year. Bummer year.

Perhaps you could spend some time reading that constitution, with particular attention to the 9th and 10th amendments and the matter of standing. The Supremes initiate nothing, not regulation, not social policy, not economic policy.
This is a federal court of last resort, for disputes that have been handled inconsistently at lower courts. The Supremes decide nothing until responsible parties have asked them to settle a dispute, and then they have the power to say no, we are not gonna get into that. The Supremes, unlike many state courts, do not, cannot, issue advisory opinions. They initiate nothing. And after they make a ruling, they have no power to force compliance. As President Jackson said about a Supremes opinion, according folklore: "John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"

I have just now learned that the right side of the mousepad allows me to move the cursor without accidentally opening all kinds of odd pages. The left side of the mousepad does the action thingies... this might make my laptop more user-friendly.

Or you can do like I did. Go somewhere like Office Depot or Best Buy and purchase a cheap compact wireless optical mouse for less than $15 and not have to sweat the built-in pad whatsoever (mine is a Logitech M185 with left and right buttons and a scroll wheel). All you need is an open USB port.MajGenl.Meade wrote:I have just now learned that the right side of the mousepad allows me to move the cursor without accidentally opening all kinds of odd pages. Yeah Bill, I have remote mouse and keyboard (both) but there isn't enough space in this hospital room to use 'em. Until I'm busted free, it's the laptop stupid keyboard and the laptop stupid mousepad. Hence my new "discovery".... Oh and BSG...

Today I was driving along the road and a thought that had never occurred to me became a thought that was actually occurring to me at that time. I pondered the thought for a while as I continued driving and eventually stopped contemplating it and began to think of other things.

I'm having one of those days at work where mixing alcohol and Ativan sounds like a good idea.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

This morning I told my boss "poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine".
I was wrong, it did constitute an emergency on my part.
Got it done anyway.
