Famous Person you have sat next to!
Re: Famous Person you have sat next to!
Well, I'm a good friend to a body guard to the stars; does that count? No? 'Kay,then...
Have pics with: Terry Farrell and Howie Mandell (pre-bald) both real professional, genuine people.
Been invited to Steve Wozniak's home ...as part of the entertainment (don't ask).
Been on a long Pacific flight with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders; nice girls, glad to support/entertain the troops and give out free autographed photos.
Met two of the Doctors, one Master, DeForest Kelly and George Takei at SciFi conventions, plus various graphic novel artists.
Had (sold it) an autographed 'collectible' football helmet, signed by Jerry Rice.
I know one of Antonio Banderas' uncles.
My brother's Godparents are The Carrascos (big Mexican musicians) how my dad hooked up with him, I don't wanna know. My Latino wedding band also went on to great fame.
Worked with the future son-in-law of Osamu Tezuka.
I t was a while ago, I can't remember the name of the female classical guitarist from Poland? I dined with after the concert up in the city.
My Ex-Mother-in-Law was antique shopping in Los Gatos and met Whoopi Goldberg.
My boss is famous in this area for being a superior metal manufacturer for over thirty years (no name, you'll figure out where I work)
One of my best friends lived on the same street, up in the city, as Robin Williams. (He waves at everybody when he takes out his trash)
I'm an acquaintance of an animator at Nickelodeon.
Was a regular customer of Dan Vado, of Slave Labor Graphics who was the boss of 'Invader Zim' creator Jhonen Vasquez, when he was still drawing comics. (I knew Dan when he was renting half his dad's electronics shop to sell comic books. Almost animated 'Samurai Penguin' for him.)
Coach Rudi Ott is my kickboxing instructor; was trained by Cung Le and Jivoni Jordan. I'm his KickWelder, ha-ha.
Corresponded with Manniac and his son, Pinch of Cement.
Met Admirals and Generals.

At age 11 I shook hands with John F. Kennedy during a tour of the White House. Met and shared a few drinks with Kenny Rodgers.
I expect to go straight to hell...........at least I won't have to spend time making new friends.
Re: Famous Person you have sat next to!
My guess is that it may have happened a number of times, because I am pretty bad at recognizing people generally, even those I know, let alone "celebrities". That being said, I sat next to Kenny Rodgers at a charity concert (and was only sure it was him when he was called up on stage to perform his songs), next to Bob Hope at a restaurant, and next to Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara at a theater, all in NYC. I also saw John Lennon a couple of times in stores when i worked in NYC near his building. In all those cases I just left them alone (other than to say something like "good job" to Rodgers when he sat down (actually, I was seated in a section which included performers and honorees--not sure why)). Personally, I think the most "famous" prefer to be left alone, while the less famous need their egos stroked (and I see no problem to do that).

Wanted to add; did more than stand next to Coach Rudi, I've done a flying full body slam right into him.

Farrell is Jadzia Dax from Star Trek: Deep Space 9, right?Have pics with: Terry Farrell and Howie Mandell (pre-bald) both real professional, genuine people.
A good friend of mine worked at Foxwoods (he's a cook, doing prep at the time)...one night, he was in the employee cafeteria along with the night-shift kitchen workers; just getting to the cafeteria, they were all clustered around the beverage station. Someone said, "Excuse me, I just need a cup," and reached past him before returning to his place in line. Looking back, he did a double-take. Waiting patiently for his turn at the coffee machine behind two dozen raucous kitchen workers was none other than Paul Anka.
Treat Gaza like Carthage.

Oh yes, this was post-modeling days, pre-Becker.
Back then, she'd been narrating a video game, Treasure Quest, and so was a guest star at a computer convention in Vegas that the Ex and I had attended. A consummate professional, I was taking pictures as the Ex congratulated her on the first televised female-to-female kiss in DS9 "Rejoined". ...when suddenly she politely admonished me, "Oh wait, that didn't work out!" Striking a better, more ravishing posture and pose; she waited while I retook the shot.
She was right.
The first picture, she'd just finished speaking and had been caught in an awkward candid mouth movement; the second picture was 'a portrait' of a beautiful, engaging woman. What a pro! She had known better than I, what I was doing!

That looks familiar - though it didn't look quite as posh as that back then - it was about 14 years or so ago, George was actually staying in Newquay at The Atlantic on a private holiday and visiting his fan club president this was a very private and invitation only "convention" he agreed to do as a thank you - it was really very intimate and lots of fun more of a spend the day with George than your usual kind of convention experience and Xeno and I got to spend some quality one to one time chatting with him and hanging out. A very gracious and warm man with a wicked wicked sense of humour.SisterMaryFellatio wrote:lmao@ Redruth. Had to be the Penventon Hotel? If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you may have misjudged the situation.

Re: Famous Person you have sat next to!
Back in the mid to late 1970's and into the early 1980's I had season tickets to the NY Islanders (Hockey team) while they were winning Stanley Cups (4 in a row). Had the pleasure many times to hang out with the players. Bobby Nystom (great guy) Billy Smith (asshole) and many others. Also went to high school with Carol Alt who is still friends with my wife and we see her about twice a year. I'm sure there are other "famous" people I have met and/or sat next to but remebering is a problem as I have CRS.
