Yeah, that's a brilliant analogy so long as you believe that the relationship between US policy and its effect on the Soviet Union was the same as that between the rooster and his effect on the orbit of the planet...

And it is. Even less so. The Russian knew that "Star Wars" was bullshit which is why they didn't increase defense spending in response.
Gorbachov was responsible for the end of the Soviet Union. Reagan was drooling in his 'nap bib' confusing movies with reality.

Re: RIP, GOP
The GOP was in crisis two years ago when the Tea Party rump started blackmailing the rest of the party into doing things which were self-destructive like forcing another shut down. The GOP, in the person of Boehner, decided to demasculate themselves (like McCain did to get the party endorsement for president) rather than showing some balls and saying that the tea party are raving stupid idiots. They had a perfect opportunity to show << leadership >> and failed.
And they continue to reap the fruits of the southern strategy. When you suck up to evil some of the rubs off on you.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: RIP, GOP
Are you all writing Drumpf now, or is my Drumpfinator Google extension just working perfectly?

Re: RIP, GOP
I decided never to write Drumpf but only Drumpf. After all, the name was changed back in the 16th century and it seem to me a little pathetic to be writing "Drumpf", as if no one else in the USA had ever had a family name change way back - and some not so way back at that. So for me, despite despising the man, it's "Drumpf".
Isn't it enough that he's an utter durd?

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
