Indeed.
A high-profile pro-gun activist was shot in the back by her four-year-old son after he found her pistol lying on the back seat of her truck just 24 hours after he boasted about his shooting skills online.

Jamie Gilt, 31, who posts about firearms on her social media accounts was driving through Putnam County, Jacksonville, Florida, on Tuesday in her truck when she was wounded after the toddler picked up the weapon and shot her in the back.

It came just a day after she said the youngster would get 'jacked up' before a shooting practice on a page dedicated to her musings on Second Amendment rights.

On the profile Jamie Gilt for Gun Sense she wrote: 'Even my 4 year old gets jacked up to target shoot with the .22'.

She reportedly believes she has the right to shoot anyone who threatens her family - and plans to teach her offspring the same mentality.

According to CBS47, Gilt was on her way to pick up a horse when the shooting unfolded.

Her four-year-old son picked up a loaded .45 semi-automatic handgun from the back seat, pointed it towards his mother and pulled the trigger.

The powerful round went through the front seat and passed through Gilt's body .

Gilt flagged down a passing Sheriff's deputy and told him that she had been shot.

Deputies recovered a .45 semi-automatic handgun from the floor of the truck. They are satisfied that the round was fired from inside the vehicle.

Gilt and her son had been travelling to pick up a horse from a relative when the accident happened.

Drill baby ,drill !
Seriously letting a youngun like that near a loaded gun would make about as much sense as handing a chimp a loaded gun ,have to wonder about the intelligence of some of these people .

Please confine political statements about Donald Trump to the Politics section. Thank yewwww!
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

This part I don't get - the 4 yr old shot her "....just 24 hours after he boasted about his shooting skills online".

Do four year old children spend a lot of time online discussing things? Aside from us 4 yr olds here at Plan B, that is...

Typo -- should have been "24 hours after she," referring to Mother of The Year, here. WTF is wrong with people -- particularly in Flori-duh?

I admit when I read this online I      and I'm not ashamed of that. Stupid, stupid careless mother - I hope they prosecute her to the fullest extent for child endangerment. What if he'd shot himself? Another driver on the road? SO glad he shot HER instead.

These people who leave loaded guns in ready reach of young children should GO TO JAIL without passing go, and spend a fair amount of time there to learn the error of their ways. :arg

eta: Because my new life is dedicated to working on alternatives to the traditional criminal injustice system, I take back the part about jail, especially since nobody died. She should be sentenced to give public talks - on TV, at schools, whatever - on the importance of gun safety and keeping guns away from young children.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

I'm not "glad he shot her instead"......she might have died and the poor kid would be an orphan.

Other than that, I agree with much that you posted.......this dim-witted broad should have the book thrown at her.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Thanks. That makes sense. I thought maybe I was underestimating the intelligence of 4 yr olds.

Q: How many Florida State University freshman does it take to change a light bulb?

A: None, it's a sophomore course.

She'd be a lot less good looking had the bullet passed through the back of her head... not that is would have done any brain damage that way.
Personally, I don’t believe in bros before hoes, or hoes before bros. There needs to be a balance. A homie-hoe-stasis, if you will.
