The 2nd of March? In politics that's like last year. Since then, Drumpf went low tech with his new people mover:Lord Jim wrote:... Since the second of March, there have been eleven polls conducted...

GAH!

Well, the problem with that theory is, that it would require that you believe either that:Big RR wrote:Or, being the cynical person I am, perhaps they are trying to manipulate some portion of the electorate by putting out bogus results.
WTSP/Mason-Dixon, Suffolk University, Monmouth, and the Washington Post and Univision...

The Florida Times-Union, Trafalgar Group, FOX News, News 13/SurveyUSA, and Quinnipiac...

That would be an excellent point Ray, if there were some sort of consistent trend in these polls over the past nine days...The 2nd of March? In politics that's like last year.
The problem is there isn't:

Oh, no, it appears that Rubio has delivered his concession speech.
Marco, we hardly knew ye.

So you think it's perfectly believable that all those polling organizations (with no conceivable advantage to gain) are all conspiring together to provide false data? Even though if they turn out to be way off it will damage their reputations?eta- RR got it exactly right!
how does it feel to be manipulated?
Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised...
The willingness to believe any damn fool thing is pretty much a membership requirement for the Trumpanzee Club...
Also the willingness to refuse to think things through or examine propositions with even minimal critical thinking...
Those are the exact same "skills" required to believe the polling organization conspiracy theory...

Re: That Giant Flushing Sound...
FWIW, I only stated the possibility of a polling conspiracy to move the discussion along, not to say I was embracing it. Jim is right, it is hard to believe that many respected polling organizations would participate in something like that, but then not all that many years ago I would never have believed that the US government would imprison people, including US citizens) without charge, or that a large portion of the population (and even the courts) would support it, and that democratic and republican administrations would perpetuate it. In such a Lewis Carroll world, I am loathe to rule anything completely out.
Re: That Giant Flushing Sound...
Well, the picture now looks somewhat different, and it's a pretty ugly picture for Marco...
It's no longer one poll has it single digits for Trump, and then the next has it in the 20 range, and then the next back to single digits...
Now the most recent seven polls all have it between 17 and 24 points for Trump...
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls ... -3555.html
With the vote just one day away, it will take an epic polling failure of the dimensions of the Michigan Democratic primary failure for Rubio to pull this out...
The odds of the pollsters being that wrong in two primary races in the same election cycle are pretty thin, but this has been a very weird year....

You obviously missed Rubio's concession speech I posted above. No real politician would have said such a thing unless all was lost.Lord Jim wrote:Well, the picture now looks somewhat different, and it's a pretty ugly picture for Marco...

Maybe Rubio can resurrect himself and run against all of Slick Hill's failed policies in 2020.
God bless America.

Yes, that was quite weird too...You obviously missed Rubio's concession speech I posted above. No real politician would have said such a thing unless all was lost.
But my take-away from that was that Rubio wants to stay in the race even if he loses in Florida, so long as it looks like no one can get the nomination prior to the convention...
And the best way to create that situation is for Kasich to win in Ohio...
He should probably also be asking for his supporters in Illinois to vote for Cruz....

The factories are in Mexico and who was the co-president that helped make that possible?

Until those jobs are shipped overseas. Are you saying that people in third world countries are not capable of doing the work. Remember when NAFTA was being proposed and that brilliant genius, that little guy with the big ears, was talking about the sucking sound and those that supported NAFTA were saying don’t worry those Mexican only make brooms. How did that work out for the blue collar worker? Think about it would you pay twenty dollars an hour for a job you get done for a dollar or less an hour overseas? Everyone with common sense will eventually ship their factors oversea and this country will become third world and we can thank Bill and Hillary Clinton for it.

Re: That Giant Flushing Sound...
While Bill clearly has his share of the blame (but I don't tar Hillary with that brush--I don't recall her being particularly for or against it, and I don't blame a first lady for what the president does), as I recall the bills enjoyed wide republican support as well--somewhere around 75% in Congress. There's enough blame to go around.
Re: That Giant Flushing Sound...
Hillary by her own words was co-president and she allowed her co-president to sign NAFTA. could've stopped him? I suppose she could've stopped him with Monica and the others as well, right? Bill did what he wanted to do, and I doubt Hillary had all that much to do with his decisions, except to serve as a foil and deflect blame from him--like when he disavowed healthcare reform.Hillary by her own words was co-president and she allowed her co-president to sign NAFTA.
