#3 is my 'gut' choice. My 'head' tells me #1 because it seems to be less messy. I feel the Repubs can, and will, accept a loss on November 8th solely because it was Drumpf running, rather than a candidate they whipped up in a manipulated deal at the convention. This election is for the Dems to lose, and I can't see that happening.

I chose #3, too. It's clear that Trump will not win the nomination on the first ballot, not with ~60% of GOP voters consistently voting AGAINST him. Of the 3 remaining contenders, Kasich would be the "reasonable" choice (if that means anything to the Republican party anymore). If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on a Kasich-Cruz ticket.

Ted Cruz could never accept a Veep slot carrying water for the administration, and Kasich did not come all this way with all his experience to be Ted Cruz's underling -- even for the good of the party. I think it's even money whether Trump gets a delegate majority before the convention; even if he doesn't, in a choice between Trump and Cruz, the party is damned either way.
GAH!

This just in —
According to a "senior GOP official" identified as Curly Haugland of N. Dakota (a long-time member of the RNC Rules Committee), "We select the nominee, not the voters".  To me, this sounds like cooler heads in the Republican leadership — and yeah, I guess there are still some of those — are already working out ways to edge Trump off the ticket and out the door.

I'm looking forward to some serious shenanigans and floor fights at the RNC this year, so I opt for #5.  We're gonna see some really strange shit this year.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Are there any other choices? :P

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I salute and I am heartened by the determined optimism of all who voted for #3. It is nice to see such faith in the democratic process.
