Batman Versus Superman...
Batman Versus Superman...
We're going to go see this on Sunday, (an early showing to avoid the crowds) and it's gotten pretty good audience response so far just from its limited release; an 8.5 IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2975590/
But I have to say that conceptually it doesn't sound like a really fair fight...
Sure, Batman's in great physical shape, and he's got a lot of cool toys...
But compared to Superman?
Seems to me the Bobick-Norton fight would look like a cliff hanger by comparison...
Unless Bruce is carrying Kryptonite in his utility belt, it really sounds like a one-punch contest to me...
But apparently there's more to the flick than the title would indicate....

Gay sex scenes?

* Yawn *.... Let me know when "Toy Story 4" comes out.

I understand it's going to be subtitled "Mom's Toys"; and the two main characters are still going be named "Buzz" and "Woody".

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Looks like a serious re-imagining of Lex Luthor...

Batman Versus Superman? That's a concept that just doesn't resonate with me. Everything I've heard from my movie studio pal, Josh Hollywood, tells me Ben Afleck's "Batman" is every bit as compelling as his "Daredevil" character.Lord Jim wrote:We're going to go see this on Sunday, (an early showing to avoid the crowds) and it's gotten pretty good audience response so far just from its limited release...
If I get a SAG/AFTRA DVD I'll be sure to check it out. Otherwise, it's probably a flick I can live without. Good luck, and stay posted with your review.

Re: Batman Versus Superman...
Make sure you provide a spoiler as to how they fight; I agree--absent kryptonite, I doubt there's much batman could do to superman in a physical fight--now if he kidnaps Lois Lane and threatens to kill her...

I'll probably miss this movie until it's on basic cable in a few years.
I might miss it even when it's on basic cable.
Still haven't seen that Batman where Keith-something-or-other played the joker (I think he OD-ed and died).

Re: Batman Versus Superman...
it looks to me from what I've been reading in reviews, that despite the title the "fight" between The Caped Crusader and The Man Of Steel is not really the main focus of the movie...
Apparently they get over that and team up to fight a particularly narly monster created by the fiendish Lex Luthor...
With an assist from Wonder Woman...
Call me cynical, but I think the main intent of the movie is to set up a multiple super hero film franchise ala Marvel's The Avengers...
But it looks like it's got some pretty cool special effects...

I sort of way to see it just to see if I can spot any of the locations. It was shot around here and a building I used to work in reportedly got some LexCorp signage.

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Ya think? With the subtle sub-title "Dawn of Justice"? And the next one already in the can?Lord Jim wrote:Call me cynical, but I think the main intent of the movie is to set up a multiple super hero film franchise ala Marvel's The Avengers...
GAH!
Re: Batman Versus Superman...
And I see that one is called:And the next one already in the can?
"The Justice League Part One"....

I guess Time Warner has a lot of confidence in this...The Avengers have been a cash cow for Disney...

Re: Batman Versus Superman...
This Superman is too short. It was established in the first and best movie that he is 6'4". This Batman has the Superman's chin. Dunno, thinking of going to the drivein to see it. I can sleep better then if it's a turd.

Yeah, me neither. What'shisname — Fletcher? — he's the same guy that did such a great job playing the knight in that anachronism-filled mashup where King Arthur meets the World Wrestling Federation that I was afraid seeing him as a villain would diminish his stature in my eyes.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I knew that, Meade, and I am reasonably sure that oldr was aware of it as well. There are some things, especially when it comes to sports, celebrities, and politics, that one becomes aware of even if they do not actively seek out the information.MajGenl.Meade wrote:Heath Ledger

No more drive-ins here on Long Island. I liked going to the drive-in, especially when I had my '68 VW van (camper model).thinking of going to the drivein to see it

I heard about it, never did see it
