Well if its below freezing wont much corrosion occur ,but try to get out and wash the chassis off when the temperature gets above freezing ,that salt will do number on bare steel and aluminum ,I dont know why we cant have sacrifii cal anodes or electronic corrosion stop for our beloved vehicles .

Same goes for a Murano - sounds like a medical treatment for nasal or eye problems

There should be a better type of rust treatment availaible by now ,especially on an older classic I wouldnt use conventional undercoating ,tip-dont drive in bad weather and be religious about washing the chassis off .

Last year, I went about 2 months where I couldn't wash my truck...because if I had, I would have been the owner of a large and undriveable ICEBERG.

Happens ,but when its that cold very little corrosion is occurring ,many times when I thought it was warm enough the ice crystals started forming, on the other hand a heated garage exacerbates corrosion .

Whoa, important note: after you get the bodywork done, you NEED to get your RAV undercoated! There is a place in Concord that does it...costs $140, takes about an hour and a half.

She's originally a Maine car, but was garaged here and then went out West. Has already spent a winter in Massachusetts and a summer sitting by the beach all night 4 days a week when I was a night guard at a private beach - and she was engulfed in fog and mist a lot. That was 8 years ago and no rust - so I'm thinking maybe she came with undercoating?

Or do you think I should check into that anyway?

The worst rust is what you cannot see...unless you saw the underside on a lift, you don't know! I have seen vehicles that look fine, but are rotted to the point of structural failure underneath.

Right but dreamy eyes the wonder mechanic had her up on the lift and saw no rust. Still Econo is right, I'd better go see him again soon and ask about undergarments . . .

You might want dreamy eyes to do a diagnosis with a test drive. Also, you can sometimes tell how good a mechanic is by the size of the tool he keeps in his overalls.

Coloring books ,eh?I am seriously going to have to look into that,when I was a youngun I loved to color aircraft (that was pre measles bouts ,one measles bout destroyed part of my hearing -if you have never had a measles shot ,you should seriously consider one ).

I've had measles shots and boosters before college; I think at my age I'm okay, but I will be asking my new doctor that when I see her in April. I know my immune system isn't top notch given that I have a type of auto-immune disorder, or immune-mediated disease - depending which MS experts you talk to.

I really love coloring. It is considered to be equally beneficial to many folks as is meditation; it taps into creativity, fine motor control, is somewhat methodical and contemplative, and touches on generally positive childhood memories. Studies show that coloring lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity and generates positive mood - the more regularly one does it, the better the effects. I color while I'm watching TV, which then means I'm really more like listening to a radio show with the occasional glance up during absences of dialog. It's like when I used to cross-stitch, and I love creating a beautiful thing, even if only putting color into somebody else's picture.

My 2 suggestions: invest in decent pencils, the experience is much better if you don't have to press hard with an inferior pencil. Prismacolor is the most reasonably priced fine art pencil, on Amazon they are 1/2 the price in arts/crafts stores. Buy coloring books with pretty good paper quality - Dover might not be the best in this regard because their print books are generally on a lesser stock of paper, but at $4.99, it's worth trying.

Currently driving these, Our 10 year old towcar Hyundai Tucson. Just replaced his battery for the first time, it still goes like a train and passes it's MOT inspection every year. The only thing he's ever needed was a new clutch about three years ago - towing a 1700 kilo caravan kind of murdered it.



Also this little beauty.



Sitting at the end of the drive plotting on ways to terrify the unsuspecting driver. It has two drive modes, woe betide you if you accidentally drop it into Sports mode and accelerate, damn thing nearly gave me whiplash.

BoSox, MS ? You have my sympathy ,had a neighbor with MS ,became good friends with Him ,I suppose the MS finally got Him,He never gave up and had a fairly good quality of life (as much as the MS WOULD ALLOW )
Anyway thinks for the tips on the pencils,I want to get some good crayons too,the airplanes do make an interesting subject to color .It amazes me how much the WW1 planes advanced from the "Wright Flyer" in short order.
