Huh? Or course they are not taking super pac money. Neither is Trump, Cruz, or who ever is running for Sheriff in your county.
By definition, a super pac is INDEPENDENT of any candidate. They collect and spend money INDEPENDENT of the candidate. Any cooperation or coordination is forbidden. That has nothing to do with the citizens united court case. Business people, organizations, etc. have always been able to contribute or even create super pacs. The Cit United court case established that a corporation is a legal person with legal rights such as free speech and thus may contribute DIRECTLY to candidates if a corporation chooses. Now there is more legal limits on political money activity of Unions than there is for Corporations.
