The only way to stop a bad guy with a lawn mower is with a good guy with a lawn mower...

I'm afraid nothing will provide safety from this level of stupidity...

I'm just sorry that Mr. Pressley didn't blow his balls off...

He can still procreate minus a leg...

You know, people are idiots (that's why I have a job). But I can't for the life of me imagine what this jackass thought was going to happen blowing up a lawnmower. (Did he not consider the fact that the thing is actually equipped with a large metal blade?) I hope none of his idiot friends accompanying him on this asinine wild mower hunt was (seriously) injured. And I hope the county emergency services department (or whoever) bills the ever-living shit out of him for his costs to the public.

I am assuming his state of residence does not require passing an actual gun safety course before allowing weapons purchases, because gun-grabbing, obvs.

I really don't think a Gun Safety Course would have made a really big difference in this case...

I doubt there's a gun safety course that covers, "don't load a lawn mower with three pounds of explosives and fire 20 rounds at it"...

Kind of like expecting a driver's ed course to cover, "don't cut your brake lines and drive down a winding mountain road"....

There's a limit to how much stupidity one can reasonably expect an educational process to try to correct...

Had it hit him in the head I doubt anyone would have noted any difference.

I would think any basic safety course would include sections on "Don't Shoot At Something Unless You Actually Know The Consequences Of Both Hitting And Missing Your Target," and "Shooting At Random Shit: Why You Shouldn't Do It, And Why You Should Probably Re-think Your Other Dumbass Life Choices."

But maybe that's just the course I would design.

Actually, this wasn't a gun safety issue, it was a failure of the lawn mower manufacturer to provide the proper warning not to blow up the machine. ;)
