Oh, and a couple of things I forgot, these are important.
1. Call your cell carrier before you go and set up phone coverage/data plan in advance. You can also get a phone there but if you use a smart phone for banking and everything else that may not be the best option.
If you don't do this the roaming phone and data charges will astonish you.
2. Call your bank and let them know you are going so they won't block your ATM/Credit cards when you start using them over there. Also, check and see which banks your US bank has relationships with (B of A does with BNP Paribas which is about as common in France as B of A branches are here).
