I'm Looking Forward To The California Primary...

Post by Lord Jim »

Ordinarily, you rarely even see a commercial for a GOP candidate around here...

(Which makes perfect sense...in Presidential primaries, the decision is generally long over before we get our turn at bat, and in general elections spending Republican advertising dollars in this Commie burg is not good value for money...)

But this time is different...

The GOP Primary here is structured similarly to the one in New York...

The state-wide winner only gets 13 delegates...

The others are awarded by each district, on a plurality basis, (3 votes for each of the 53 Congressional Districts)

What that means in this situation, is that my vote is going to count for a lot...

Not only is the GOP California Primary actually going to be meaningful this year, but there are so few Republicans in my congressional district that my vote carries far greater weight than it would in a heavily Republican congressional district in the state...

My district has the exact same three delegate votes that they do....

Gee whiz, I'm going to see so many political ads I'm going to think I was living in Ohio... 8-)

(Usually, the only reason a serious Presidential candidate shows up around here is to do a fundraiser at the St. Francis or the Fairmont....)

I think there's a very good chance that all three remaining GOP will hold events here in the Bay Area...

And if John Kasich does, I will drag my daughter and son over to attend it...(though I'm sure they would prefer not to go...8-) )

John Kasich is the first the Presidential candidate I have made a modest contribution to (a hundred bucks) since I made a modest contribution to Mike Huckabee in 2008...

Of the five candidates remaining, (Three Republicans and Two Democrats) the only one I could vote for with real enthusiasm is John Kasich....

What Primary?

On yeah, I refuse to join any party that would have me as a member.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

And don't forget to take your children to go see The Trumpster in Burlingame on April 29th... :D

(A good opportunity to teach your children how to recognize a con artist)

Yes, Jim, you and the 8 other registered Republicans in your district are in for the Iowa/New Hampshire treatment and then some. May be time for a new pair of really good sunglasses.

You know, I think I can walk into the polling place and ask for whichever ballot I want.

Heh heh heh. And that's trump.

Hey LJ. Only 9 registered Republicans in your district, with 3 delegates for the convention--never mind voting, why don't you run for delegate!

Well snail, Long Run has understated the number of registered Republicans here in Pelosi Land, just a bit.... :)

(I just checked, and apparently a whopping 13% of registered voters in this district are Republicans...)

And besides, who the hell wants to spend a week in Cleveland in July?

Or any other time for that matter... :P
