I mean, you like cruises, but I'd rather soak my bollocks in petrol, set fire to them, and beat out the flames with a bouquet of barbed wire, than go on a cruise.
But it would be a very boring world if we all had the same taste, and "de gustibus non disputandum est" as I keep trying to enable Aspergers boy to understand.
We're retiring here;
This secluded cove can only be reached by a public footpath which runs behind our house, 5 mins stroll and I'm here

If you are still working, what age do you plan to retire?
If you are retired, what age did you stop working at?
We're in the early stages of a 17 month plan to retire.

It's like my older son asked me when my daughter was thinking about buying her house. "Are you sure you're ready to start maintaining ANOTHER house"?oldr_n_wsr wrote:and the daughters house is an ongoing project. Just finished putting a hole in a wall that goes between the kitchen and living room, where she wants a counter top. Of course it is a load bareing wall so I had to do extra support above the "portal". And she wants an electrical outlet and spotlight in the yard, blah blah blah.......
My daughter is very good about doing things she can do (lawn/garden/leaves/etc), and is even a quick study for things she doesn't know (laying floors, putting a big-ass hole in the wall, assembling furniture) . By the time I am done doing all she wants/needs done, she will be able to do it herself.Luckily she has a nephew close by to mow the lawn.
Remember to check that any path you take is clearly marked and fully repaired.I hope to get back into paragliding and rock climbing
But who will lend you a baby?Gob wrote: I hope to get back into paragliding and rock climbing.

What about the Cornish liberation front and establishing the Celtic league for a united Celtic people? Oh, maybe you don't want to talk about that in public.Gob wrote:I'm not a handyman like O-n-W, but I have plenty of ambition for my retirement.

The area we will be living in is rich in neolithic remains, we will also be close enough to Bodmin moors, and Dartmoor, with their antiquities. I hope to use them as a subject for photography projects.
Hen is going to be doing foraging courses, and we hope to develop our range of cooking skills.
We have friends all over the UK who are game to do "house swaps", so we will get to live in and explore their area.
We want to buy a campervan and tour other parts of the UK and Europe.
Of course it will give me more time to work on my music, you lucky things!!
